HI
At the Midwest lily bulb sale. This question came up. Could a member sell the bulbs from his Garden.? My Answer would be yes as long as they were not protected by a Patent or Breeders rights. The next Question is how do you find out if a plant is protected by a patent etc.. ? Anyone with any information please sound off.
Thanks Dennis
Breeders Rights
I am not sure how to find out, but I asked similar questions last year on Yahoo. It seems that in the lily industry there is almost zero patented lilies, it just isn't used. I have only heard of one lily being patented, don't recall which one. The cost of a plant patent is upwards of $5000!
So culture, multiply and sell to your hearts content.
So Dennis, did you save us any bulbs? :) LOL
We had 85 bulbs left. With the weather being what it was . It turned out good. Mostly a few Asiatics and LA' s Left.

Good, I'm glad you had a great sale!! I have several boxes of lilies sitting in the basement fridge waiting for it to warm up enough for me to go out and plant them... Hopefully, that will happen this week!
