As a lazy good for nuthin' person, I have noted that I can exit my web whatchamacallit without logging off. When I come back I am still logged on to Daves Garden. My question to you Dave is this. Am I causing you problems in any way if I stay logged on. I know just enough about computers and especially websites to be a severe danger to those around me. I assume the initial purpose of log on - log off was because of limited computer resources.
Also well I got your ear - congrats on 3500 plus members. Quality always wins!

Yes, it's true. Logging on and logging off means little to me from a resources perspective. All the "Log Off" button does is clear the username and password from your computer.
If you think somebody else will use your computer to access Dave's Garden, then you will want to clear it by logging off.
Otherwise, just stay logged in, and each time you hit DG your computer will automatically log you in.
Dave
My thanks to you for your - as usual - very prompt reply. I still think with as much as you accomplish you have got a bunch of clones runnin' around down there!
Jack
:} Glad this came up! I too have never logged out! But then I am here so much that it seemed to be a waste of time to do it!
granpa jack, are you sure you didn't mean to say "clowns" instead or clones?http://davesgarden.com/showthread/81064.html
LOL Lisa!!
Clowns or clones - they sure are efficient little buggers!

I made a icon for my top tool bar (right beside the aol icon on the top right hand side) so now all I have to do is click on the flower icon and I'm off to DG! saves on the typing or looking in my favorites. so dave you ought to feel special b/c I have a special icon just for you! and I don't log on and off eaither. I just click and go !!
mollybee how do i sent up that icon??????
O Janet it is REAL easy! All you need to do is, #1 go to Dave's Garden, #2 go to one of the icons at the top of screen in the right hand corner....there should be a icon that says " Quotes" "Perks" "Calendar" RIGHT click on any one of those and it will say, "Remove from Toolbar" click on it..then another box will pop up asking you if you are sure you want to do that...click on yes...then on the top of Dave's Garden screen left click and drag the red heart up to the empty space where the other icon was...then follow the directions on chooseing another icon (I chose the yellow flower)...then you have to type in a name for the icon. and that should be it!! then you can just click on the new icon and BAMB!! you're at Good ole Dave's !! Good Luck and let me know if you have any problems. O and you can have a total of 3 icons that you want to make yourself. the same way but maybe different places, like a plant search or etc. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions. K?

MOLLYBEE AND ALL, I DID IT, I REALLY DID IT. I have internet explorer. so i did just as you said and deleted the aol i was not using. then i went to daves screen and clicked on the daves logo flower and dragged it up to theat spot on my taskbar where the aol had been and now i have a direct link to daves.
To add on Mollybee's toolbar tip. I do not know how to remove them from Netscape, I did it so long ago I have forgotten. But I did some digging around and figured out how to do it for those interested!
1. click on bookmarks, then edit bookmarks.
2. click on the link you would like to see in the tool bar.
3. go up top to where it says File
4. you will see Add selection to toolbar. Click that and you are all set. I did mine up with the sites I visit most often and it's terrific, If I ever remember how to remove them, I'll let you know.
Thanks Molly for the great tip.
Holly
Ok figured out how to remove the old ones, Open up your bookmarks once more, click on edit bookmarks, There you will see Bookmarks for So & SO, below that you will see Personal Toolbar folder (I don't remember that being there once upon a time...lol) If the plus sign is not open then click on it and you will see what is in there. What ever you have in there that you want removed, just click on it so that it is highlighted. Then right click on the highlighted area and delete it. Hope this helps in some way.

We should have a little section for computer tips we all use.
It's easier to just do what I did ~ make DG your home page! LOL!
Actually i do have DG for my home page !!
it's pretty much the only site i'm in :)
(thanks a bunch Dave)
