The majority of what is blooming or has buds about to burst came from Mitch as he dismantles his garden in preparation for moving. I am one lucky girl. Will have to post several times.
This was a bog garden he had. It now sits behind my little pond and the LA Iris are about to bloom. Beautiful cannas coming up.

Will continue to add as more things bloom.
blooms for Mitch
Christi, everything is beautiful, especially the snow white Iris.
The plant you have so much of and are wondering about is Swiss Chard, so you can eat it.
Josephine.
Everything is beautiful!! If I had a place like that to "just hang out" in, I might never go to work! :-)

So beautiful and so much to look at! I would never leave home if that were my yard!
Thanks everyone. Jo, how could I have plain green chard when I planted red? So strange that it has spread everywhere and the leaves are really huge. Nice to just look at.
Christi
The flower in the second picture is Bulbine frutescens.

Beautiful! Luckily your babies have a good home, Mitch.
It must be hard to leave a garden.........I would sell my home with little regret except for giving up my garden.
Great photos and a beautiful garden! The white iris is simply gorgeous, and the white with purple edging is very pretty. But, Mitch, this is Jesse's Song. Perhaps Christi has some of it too. I have given it to lots of people over the years, and it is still one of my favorites, blooming early and continuing for several weeks. Christi, if you don't have it, I'll bring some to the fall swap.
Pat dont worry - Christi has it too... sad but one year without it and my memory faded... Christi will look that one up... I kinda gave her somewhere around 8 trays of named iris.. all diffrent...
Mitch, memory fade at your young age? The one in Christi's photo looks very familiar, but I can't put a name to it. I hope your relocation goes smoothly and you and your family enjoy your new home. Just let me know when you need some more irises!
Will do Pat - yep my memory is already fading I guess I was sure about that one... somewhere in all the boxes here ok in OK I have the list with the names and plants listed...
Pat your Iris - all of them were always the strongest growers I had here.
LouC, love your Crossvine! I see them growing in the woods near my farm in Mississippi. They can be purchased and one of these days, I would like to plant one in the yard of my farm. They are a much underused as a garden plant -- in my opinion.
I hereby declare that all of the plants in my care from Mitchel Fitzgerald are here until he has a place to plant them. I pray that I don't make their life so hard that they don't survive. I am more than humbled to have them left in my care. I thank Mitch so much. My life has been much enriched by his friendship.
God bless the gardeners.
Christi
Christi - Dont do that, be a dear dear friend and take them, love them, and one day I might come and take a start of a few to a new place. They are yours so much has we can ever really own a plant.
Well, great Crossvine! Mitch it is very enlightened of you to cultivate a crossvine and it is very enlightened of LouC to take such excellent care of it for Mitch. I bet you enjoy it as well.
Love your beautiful garden Christi....your photos are great....looks like I could just walk right into the garden...
That is it - and her whole place begs you to come in and sit here, or stroll there, or swing here... she did a wonderful job in the planning.
