Annie's Annuals is having their Spring Party this weekend, April 12-13, 10-5. See here for info: http://www.anniesannuals.com/
Is anyone going? I'm only a few minutes from Annie's and would love to meet some of you there.

Annie's Annuals Spring Party - Who's Coming?
Oh, you lucky people!
They keep sending me emails and I would so like to go. You are lucky folks, alright!
Oh, I don't know. I think S. Calif. and particularly the North San Diego County areas are pretty cool too. You guys have lots of places to go, plus you have drdon's annual party! With gas costing so much I can't afford to travel down there anymore, and I miss those trips a lot.
Hopefully some of the local folks will chime in soon. I'm sure they're going; I'm not sure if they're watching this forum on a regular basis. Aaarrrggghhhh!!
Yes, but we want Annie's too.....I know what you mean about the gas, I'm missing my trips North also. I would love to go to the Cabrillo sale, but can't justify it this year.
I hadn't been planning on going (I love Annie's but I hate crowds! LOL) but if there's a group going let me know when and I'll try to make it, I'll happily put up with crowds to hang out with some fellow DG'er! I'm not sure if I'll be able to go though--I have lots of stuff going on at work so I know I'm going to have to spend some time on that this weekend, plus I am desperately trying to get all my plants that I already have into the ground before it gets too hot!
Desperately trying to get all of my plants in the ground before it gets too hot......yep....am hoping for our usual May and June overcast down here. Wanted to plant more today and it's supposed to be 90 degrees here this weekend.
It's supposed to be mid/high 80's here too this weekend and I got really scared for a bit that maybe it was too late to plant, but then all next week it's back down to more typical cooler temps so I think I still have some time! I think I'll be doing my planting on Sunday afternoon, that way they won't have to put up with too much heat before things get cool again.
Ditto and ditto here. Got pretty hot here today so the plumies are out for a sun bath. At least the warmth seemed to help our passiflora bloom for the first time. We've been watching the darn buds for about three weeks now saying, "open, open."
gypsy - I feel your pain! LOL
Liz - Apparently no one's checked in here. I haven't heard from anyone via dmail. I'm going to check w/ a few people directly. I'll let you know.
Well, I sent out some dmails to some of the people who usually go to Annie's party, and they all said they couldn't make it. Boo Hoo! :>) Guess I'll have to go by myself. LOL!!
Would you mind picking up just a few things for us?......LOL
Only if you pay my way to drdon's annual shindig. HEHEHEHEHE
I'd be happy to go in a couple weeks...this weekend doesn't work too well, and then the next two weekends I have things going on, but my resident gopher just finished chomping some nice plants of mine so I need to get replacements, and where better to go than Annie's! Unfortunately by the time I have a weekend free to go, it won't be a good time of year to plant and I really don't want two decks full of plants all summer waiting for fall planting like I've had the last two years! I actually saw the stinky little gopher this morning...he kept popping his ugly head up out of his holes...so I tried running water down one hole to drown him, then I sprayed spray paint in another hole hoping the fumes would get him, and then he popped up out of another hole and was hanging out there laughing at me, so I got out my mattock and tried to smash him (unsuccessfully of course!) It seriously felt like a scene straight out of Caddyshack! LOL
We really would like to see you guys all down here for the do at don's. We have one heck of a good time. Did I mention plants? Did I mention really good food? You can see the new baby horses...Fiona will play her flute...Weege mentioned that it's the Temecula Wine and Balloon festival that same weekend for those who'd like to do that also......
OK Marilyn, will do! Unless I'm able to take a long weekend sometime, it'll probably be mid-May, too much going on between now and then! And thanks for the offer of Rufie but I think my dog might be offended if I bring in another dog to do his job (which he's not doing a very good job of obviously). Plus oneanjl already offered up her wiener dog complete with hot dog costume for gopher hunting...you're going to have to make Rufie top that one! LOL
Sherry--I had been hoping I could make it to Don's this year, but my sister's in town that weekend :-( Maybe next year! I would love to meet all of you one of these days!
I've been hankering after that event since it first started! One year drdon said I could come down early and ride the horses. I volunteer at UC Berkeley Botanical Garden, and UC Berkeley is his alma mater, so I think he felt a little affinity. I've been following all of the preparations for this year's event with envy. Maybe one of these years....
That's great Liz - I look forward to getting together again.
Hey, I can't help it that a Sheltie isn't bred to do a terrier's job! LOL Rufie's good, but I don't know if he's as good as a Doxie. Maybe we can bring both dogs over and have a contest? HEHEHEHEHEHE

Yeah, I guess if the gophers were running around the yard in circles Kirby could herd them back into their holes! LOL I'd love to see Rufie and the hot dog compete to see who can get the most gophers. But based on what my gopher exterminator told me, I suspect I really only have one gopher, so it might not be very interesting a contest! And they'll have to beat the exterminator to the gopher...they were out a couple weeks ago to take care of my problem but they obviously didn't really get the little guy, so they have to come back out (hopefully SOON!) and fix things.
HEHEHEHEHE!! Good luck with the gopher!!
Doesn't she understand that I can't get away from my hovel during tax season.
Curses Red Baron!
Maybe it's time to retire so I can do things during this part of the year.
Sorry, George - I keep forgetting too!
