I live in upstate South Caroilna. Is it to late to prune A CM?
Pruning a Crepe Myrtle
I would say it's to late. I prune mine in December. Also I don't prune much at all. Many people cut them back way to much so why don't you just let it go natural this year and see if it looks good, bet it does.
I'm pretty sure they bloom on new wood so it may not be too late to prune. I'm not sure though, I also generally prune mine over the winter so I don't know what'll happen if you prune now.
They bloom on new wood but mine are leafing out right now so Smokey's must about ready to grow. I'm not think it's good to prune them right before they leaf out.
