I am moving some of my seeds from my coffee filters to seed starting mixture and a few of my phlox have the "fuzzy whites" on them. Should I spray them with H202, or simply plant the ones without it. I really don't want to lose any. What is the ratio of peroxide to water? Thanks to you guys who have tried to help me...I really appreciate it!

Me again!
I believe the H2O2 ratio is 1:10......another good thing to use is Chamomile tea. Chamomile not only keeps the fungus away, but it seems to slow the growth of algae on the top of the soil. I'd spray the ones with the fuzzies and plant them....wouldn't hurt to try!
Thanks KJ, I'll do that tomorrow. It's so nice to have people to help you with questions, so that one doesn't have to stay bent over the computer tracking down answers. I don't drink tea, so is this just the tea like regular tea,(except its chamomile). Do I use regular strength? Thanks again!!
Gin, Not sure how old you are, but if you're over 40, pull out the old eyeglasses and look at those white fuzzies reeeeeeal close. Is there any chance it is some very fine, hairline roots? A lot of seeds have those, but I don't know if Phlox is one of them. When you sow seed in the soil or in a pot of soilless mix, you don't see stuff like that, y'know? But when you sow them bare nekked, you see all kinds of things you never saw before. :))

P.S. I'm kidding about how old you are, but you really have to look very closely to see if those are good roots or bad mold.
Don't have to take out the glasses. Been wearing glasses many, many moons. Matter of fact, I have to take them off to see up close. I'm 55....which I can use as an excuse for stumbling all around this site, without knowing where I'm going or what I'm going, as well as forgetting who I sent what to. But, I'm enjoying the ride. You know, it occured to me tonight, that I have yet to provide these young'uns with a home once they are large enough to go out. I don't have one of "them there" DH's. to dig the holes for me. I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. See how I ramble, that's another thing I can blame the 55 on.!!!lol
Oh, the ones that have the fuzzy whites, definitely have the fuzzy whites. Just my luck. I'll spray them tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks again!!
That's the beauty of seedlings,,,, the holes are really small. See, if you bought them all in those big pots fro HD, you'd really have to work a lot harder. LOL!
Sorry it wasn't roots. :((

I usually make the tea in a one gallon container....I use 5 or 6 teabags per gallon. I don't know if there's a real ratio you're supposed to use or not, but once I make the tea, I'll fill my sprayer up about half to 3/4 with tea, then add water the rest of the way. I haven't had any problems thus far with mold or mildew, so it's working. I hope it works for you!!
