Please help me identify this pest. It is currently only attacking my sunflowers in mass. Help please!!!!!! WHAT IS IT?

The picture is a bit fuzzy but, are they not just aphids? Whatever they are, they look soft bodied so just about any chemical or organic solution should take care of them.

Hi Plantfreak - I was thinking spider mites but they do squish easily. I just sprayed in the dark with soapy water. Thanks!

If that's what spider mites look like in your area, I'd move! :) Here, spider mites are so small that most of my older co-workers have to pull out their glasses just to see them. If they do end up being aphids, the soapy water would probably do the trick. Just remember to check them again soon just in case.

They are black aphids. Use a soap-based sprayor a pyrethrum spray.
