Need advice about germinating Lilium superbum,Turkscap lily

I received seeds for lilium superbum with instructions that said sow in early fall. Obviously, that time is well past but I want to do something with them but am not certain how to proceed. Should I put them outside in a winter sowing type container now or what? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I wondered if I should try to start them inside now. I just don't know how to proceed. I realize it will take some time no matter which way I proceed, but I want to try them. Please someone help me! Thanks.

I would double bag half the seeds and store in the freezer until fall. Double bag the other half and store in the refrigerator until fall. This covers your bases for storage until fall planting. Freezing has been shown to be the best way to preserve viability of lily seeds.

Pot them up in slightly moist soil mix in the fall after the weather has cooled off. This type of seed requires cool weather to form a bulblet under the soil. As the weather warms again they should germinate. This process can take 6 months! You might be able to speed it up by bringing the pots inside after 3 cool/cold months.

Thanks so much for your answer. That's what I was needing to know.
