CLOSED: little eggs?

Port Saint Lucie, FL(Zone 9b)

Anyone know what these things are. When searching my passiflora for eggs for my Butterfly program, I came across these on the leaf. I know not frittillary or longwing eggs but what are they?

Hi Maydreams!

If they haven't already hatched yet, I am glad I caught you. You need to take the leaf off the plant and isolate it immediately. I am pretty sure they are not butterfly eggs, and so far in looking at eggs in my references they look most like parasitoid eggs. If you grow your passionvine for butterflies such as Gulf Fritillaries and Zebra Longwings it could be a devastating year if they are parasitic.

Rule of thumb when seeing anything unknown is to isolate it/them. A good way to do this is with a glad or ziplock container. Since the critters can be tiny poking holes may allow them to escape, so cut out the center of the lid and use chiffon fabric (or the like) to stretch over and clamp the lid back on. The branch the eggs are on can be stuck into wet floral foam to keep it fron drying out until the eggs hatch.

They remind me a little bit of Harlequin bug eggs. http://ipm.ncsu.edu/vegetables/pamphlets/crucifer/hb.jpg

No, still unhatched and no change. I did find another set but these are bigger. Let me see about a picture...

Some Shieldbug eggs are grey, but there looks to be a lot of them. Are they barrel shaped? I had eggs of a Gorse Shieldbug which were dark grey and barrel shaped.
