I saw GST nectaring on my Penstmon tenuis yesterday, a big beautiful one, and a few monarchs, frantically looking for milkweed which isin't up yet.
I had wintered some pots of it in the garage and set them out in hopes that they will find them.
Already have 4 BST cats from the Fielder garden, and two have already pupated.

Wow, Josephine! That is fast, I haven't seen one yet. Of course right now in WA all I am seeing is patches of snow. We did get to tour a conservtory in Spokane yesterday and I got my flower fix. They were small but very organized and beautiful plants.
I look forward to being back home soon. My DH told me the storms that came through left him without power for about 36 hours. Food had to be cleaned out, etc.; but no damage to anything other than that.
See some of you at Waxahatchie Sat!
I had a butterfly on Thursday! It must have just eclosed because it was just sitting there, drying its wings. Then it flew off. I didn't have a camera (natch!) and when I came in to the computer see if I could identify it, there were no photos on butterfliesandmoths.com that looked like it. Going by memory sucks! :( If I had to guess, thoug, I'd say it looked closest to a Meadow Frittilary.
BUT I had a butterfly!
Cat,. That is such cool news! Congratulations of your rare find!
Suzy
Great Josephine! I released 3 GST already at the first of March... Seems they have come out of hibernation early this year.
And you're already seeing them in Indiana too Suzy!! You think it might have been a Black ST or GST? WHat color was it? Answer that question in the new thread I post below , okay?
Hope your having a great time traveling Sheila!! See you at WAX!!
The new thread started a few days ago folks.. this was getting too long.
