5 days later - Thank You beckygardener

I received some seeds from Becky on the 20th and since I had a empthy flat I seeded 10 seeds late that night.

The morning of the 23rd when I posted 9 out of 10 came up already. As of today all 10 are visually growing.
3 of them are growing like a weed.

The 2 'Morning storm' are 4" tall and the far right is 3 1/2 inches tall,it is ' Plum Shadow'

The other part of the flat I am saving for Karen's seeds. But have to pot up 30 Phlox first and some other Co-Op plants to give them a start.

I planted some Moonflower seeds last thursday and they too are up. So yesterday I planted Heavenly Blue Morning glory seeds. I found seedlings from last years flowers growing in the bed this weekend, will be curious if they bloom pink again or bloom some other color. Not that I care, just need flowers!

Wow, that is wonderful! What do you use to stake it??? Ususally I just put mine in the ground once they get big enough for staking, never thought to stake it in the pot!

Carolyn,
isn't that great that we will have some wonderful vines to show off hahaha
I am into roses and did and dig huge holes, sometimes 18x18 and larger.
So this is such a BIG plus for me.My gardens will be just in the second season so I want to suppliment with vines and I really have fallen in LOVE with the MG.

Also startet some castorbeans and moonflowers, mine are up to.

Carolyn,
I live in Maine and probably can't put them outside until May ? the little stakes are leftovers from the long matches that come in a box.

Looks like I came to the right place. I have some wonderful seeds I received from EmmaGrace in trade. I'm dying to get them planted but don't want to end up with vines all over the place before I can put them outside. In my Zone 6B Mother's Day would be safe to plant outside time. I did grow some last year from seeds but didn't keep a record of when I planted them. I was hoping to find out what would be a good date to start my seeds.

They look great! Glad to hear that so many of you have seedlings coming up already. I would caution ya though ... MGs DO grow very FAST, so if you start them too early, you may be challenged to find adequate lighting to get them to grow full and bloom. They will need sunlight or some good indoor lighting the bigger they get. Just a thought.
