Return to Gardening!

He could always plow in S. America during our summer.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

well, we can leave all the grass in menasha for him!!!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

I like grass! You need some open areas.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I'd heard that about you Al!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You can still have open without turf grass.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

yes... and less grass ... less japanese beatles ( I hope)

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll return to gardening was this dang-blasted snow melts again.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i'll return to gardening if i survive the opening of this show. i am so worried about this one.
stressed and depressed.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I hear Al's Menasha grass is something special.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i think i could use some of that today.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I don't think that's the kind of grass Al grows but who knows? Have to watch out for the quiet ones.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

lol you guys are funny. I wish the ground would defrost and stay defrosted. Soon I hope. Next week looks warm but wet. So we will go from too frozen to plant to too wet to plant. Just a one week window of warm sunny weather to transplant my DL is all I want right now, that's not asking a lot is it?

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Boston's (Ch. 5) 5-day forecast shows 65 for Tuesday, April 1st. I wonder if that's supposed to be an April Fool's Joke?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

We are supposed to have a 60-plus degree day too- but with rain.

hey! Wait a minute! Did Pirl just refer to Al as a "quiet one"?????

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

She did, she did!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I did!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Al is quietly loud.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Maybe he's plowed himself under the snow.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Snow is almost gone. Some in the forecast this week - hope it misses.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I hope it misses you, too, Al.

amethystsm ~ everything will be alright once it's over. I'm sending positive vibes your way.

Boxford, MA(Zone 6a)

Sue, since when does Ch. 5 have Saturday news? There could be a meteor headed for Earth and all they'd have on is sports and infomercials!!!
For everyone that doesn't get ch. 5, we have a weatherman named Dickie. Now we have a Harvey, too, and Al Wankum. Good weathermen have to have a huge Geek factor to warrant respect. That, and knit vests to wear on stormy days.
It perfectly well could be 65 Tues. Then it could be -20 on Wed.!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll refrain from commenting on those names.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Good boy, Victor!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Cool thread.......fun to see who is getting out there and starting the garden engines!!

Guess who's leading the family March Madness pool????? Tee hee....it drives them wild.....all the guys played sports and I often win the pool. They get all upset that I make my picks in just a few seconds.......OH, LOL!!! I lived in NC for 10 years and followed BBall a lot there........Davidson was tenacious even then and UNC was hard to stop. Duke was a disappointment. I like their coach.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor - big time admiration for your self-control.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Jax we do ch. 4 here with old Mr Burbank in the am. He has been doing the weather there for 30 years. You have to be pretty good in the northeast, with the "change every ten minutes" weather we have. Not like some places that they could record the weather once and still be right every day. Aggravating the way the weather changes so much in the spring but it sure isn't boring. :)

Here to say hi to everone, eyes are still not good enough to post a lot sorry to say.

Have not done anything so far in the garden too cold and windy for my old bones, spring always seem to take a long time to get here when suddenly it is summer.

Have you noticed Google is showing up in black for Earth
Day?...Maria

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi Maria!! Nice to see you posting. Too windy here too.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hi Maria!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Hi Maria!!
I didn't notice Google today. I'll have to go see.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good to see you again, Maria. It was too windy out, here, to work outside today.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Sheesh, meant to say earth DAY, lol, but I do thank you for your nice responds, this is always very appreciated.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Hi Maria!!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Maybe it was for earth hour, when we were all supposed to turn off the lights for an hour at 8pm. Couldn't convince the director that it was a solution to lighting the show though - owell.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

You were right, Amy. It was for Earth Hour.

Funny thing. I was very tired yesterday after a busy day with the family. We all turned out the lights for Earth Hour. I fell to sleep!! Good thing I was already in my jammies and ready for bed anyway!

Thought you all might get a kick out of that.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

I forgot about it by night time! I was busy on the 'puter creating a notebook about trees for Arbor Day (4.25).

Aren't you the proud 'mommy'?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)
