Joyce,
WOW! I opend my box, did you save any for yourself? Thank you SO much. :)Anita
CLOSED: Suprise lilies/naked ladies
I'm glad you guys liked your boxes! I just really wanted to keep ya'all busy for awhile, cause I know you guys don't have enough to do!!
Hey Noell, what do you have to trade?
what's an NL? i just read what new york said above and realized i didn't have a clue what she meant. do i want any NL's ? i might and i never even asked. are they all gone? lol.
Barb-
NL: naked ladies
ie: lycoris squamigera
:0)
oh, yeah. that's what this whole thread was about anyway. lol. i got 'em already joyce so don't offer me any. i just want your daylilies and i thought new york was getting all your special daylilies and i felt i had to put a stop to it if i could . hahahaha
and taylor i have a little pot of apparently dormant trout lilies for you. i couldn't get any of the bigger ones as they were down so deep. i will dig down eventually in the pot to make sure that they are in fact just dormant and not "gone". lol.
Re Naked Ladies---Now and then during the past 60 years (oops, I'm 87 years old) we've grown them at 3 places in 2 states, and always thought the bulbs had to be transplanted only in the after-bloom, before-leaves state or they wouldn't bloom the first year------that they couldn't be "putting out the strength" to make replacement leaves and new blooms at the same time.
If some of you have the experience/knowledge to set me straight, even at this late date I'd appreciate.
dilly, my experience with lycoris is mostly with the red ones. but i find MOST OF THE TIME no matter how big the bulb is and no matter when you do it they always seem to skip a year before they bloom again after they are moved.
Oh Barb, We would share:) Everything is waking up here:)
new york, now you need to let me be ornery and don't give in too easy. i feel as though i am coming back to life. for a couple of days i actually didn't like plants too much. but i almost feel back to normal again and normal is wanting everything i don't have and that NL daylily was one of 'em. lol. off to college station tomorrow and hope to find something new and exciting and so ME!
I have everything done for my Co-op till the bulbs come in, so I should have time to check BAD for you & make sure it has made it another year, I'm sure it has, I have had it for I think 3 now. Still not time to dig here, but getting close, have you had a chance to check on the Toads for me?
Jeepers, I will shut up now, forgot this is Joyce's trading thread, Yikes!! :)Anita
well we are keeping her ad for naked ladies alive here now new york so she prob. won't mind too much. lol. and yes i got toads. they are doing well in texas but later on in the summer they will look so ratty. but that flower is worth it.
When I looked in my box, I don't know how she could have anymore to trade! Wozzer, she sent a LOT!
Just wanted to make everyone happy! I'm kinda bummed out now, after 2 days of flooding AGAIN, now they are calling for snow showers and lows of 32 degrees for the next 3 days. Somebody needs to kick Mrs Mother Nature right square in the *ss. Just may be me if I can find her!
Joyce
Kick her for me too!! Calling for snow again! I am so over winter:(
If anyone has more of the NL's than they can plant.. I would gladly give them a home in my and my mothers flowerbeds. We are having sooo much fun finding things coming up that I planted 1 and 2 years ago... frequently say .. forgot about that.. thought that was dead. Gardening is so much fun! I have a box of canna rhyzomes that I have no place to plant.. at least no place that I want to let them spread. LOL
Tammie
cool today .. 64 and sunny.
I have walking iris's, a few EE's, a stargazer bulb or two...
we are going to get into the thirties this week. good grief. another weird year.
