Hi
Not sure if you need ID but just in case this is Strobilanthes dyerianus from Myanmiar, it does very well in part shade in the garden (I am on Reunion island, right on Capricorn tropic), I add a pic with a chameleo which visit the garden every once in a while as we are on the edge of a ravine with lots of wildlife in.

Thanks for your post JJ,

it's not every day one speaks to someone from Reunion. I only knew of the place from my stamp collecting days. I now checked it out and see that you have real and dangerous mosquito problems there but it must be a real tropical paradise otherwise. Thanks for the ID.

Love the chameleon! Our lizards are abundant, but much more boring in color.

Randy I have a statue just like yours in re-designed Brug bed. Can you tell me anything about it?

Beautiful candela! I bought one like that last summer, and it seems to take more moisture than the other varieties I have.

Rj , it is quite amazing how healthy your plants look this early in the spring. I enjoyed all your pictures. Mikes' garden is very impressive too, the bamboos and palms are so big. Fredrumps' garden is what we all dream of when planting one of our walmart finds. Very impressive pictures.
candela love your new alocasia, here is my new plant.

thanks candela, I have been working very hard making a new flower bed. It is about 2ft. high, filled with superblend compost mix, mulched oak leaves, cow manure, peat moss and landscapers mix. I hope it works for good drainage.
The plant is a Silver lady tree fern.

The largest mango on the tree came from blooms that appeared uncharacteristically early in December.

delecie, thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures with us, your plants are absolutely beautiful. I am now looking up Dombeya X Seminole (tropical rose hydrangea). All of my tropicals are still in the greenhouse.
