Japanese Morning Glory & 'Feathered' Morning Glory
Are these both annuals? Do they bloom only in the morning & on cloudy days - or do they bloom all day long? Once the seeds have fallen to the ground - will they become invasive? Thanks for any input! :)

Japanese Morning Glory & 'Feathered' Morning Glory Questions
They are annuals. They bloom in the morning and some will stay open longer than others provided it isn`t hot like in the 90s. The various youjiros which are hybrids of ipomoea purpurea and ipomoea nil such as the maisugata and yaguruma and higes which are ipomoea purpurea tend to hold a better shape and maintain color longer.
Yes, they do drop seeds and if you don`t weed and conditions are favorable they will grow into vines where they have fallen. If you weed them out before they make seeds then they are gone for good. I hope this helps.

Hi Mike!
The majority of Ipomoea purpurea vines often produce a lot of seeds. You can either collect the seeds (you have to do it almost daily once the pods ripen) or remove the entire flower (not just petals) after it blooms so that it doesn't produce seeds. And of course pull out any volunteers you don't want from the ground.
I addition to what Beckgardener has said, you can also take some pruners or scissors and snip off all the immature green pods you see when you deadhead your garden. Slice the green pods in two for good measure to destroy the developing seeds. If you wait until they turn brown and fully ripen and don`t harvest them on time then they will drop the seeds and you will have to weed out the volunteers.

Glad to hear it, Mike! Be sure to post photos of your vines when they bloom! I can never get enough photos of MG blooms! :-)
BTW - Your dog has some beautiful baby blues!
