You know what upsets me? When you get an envelope in the mail with no return address and no lable on the seed packet.
Why, Why does anyone do this? My crystal ball is broken and it is hard to find a new one. LOL :)

Sure I love named surprises. Guess I will plant some next spring and hope I don't plant 25 trees in my flower bed.LOL
Know what you mean,HoniBee.
I received some seeds last year that came wrapped in a paper towel stuck inside a white envelope with no return address or the name of the seeds....nothing so have no idea what type of seeds these are and I still have them cause have no idea where to plant them or what they are. Couldn't read the post mark on the envelope so to this day I don't who sent them or where they came from, so wasn't even able to thank the person who sent them. So what is a person to do? Can't offer them in a trade, not knowing what they are or not having planting instructions. I Do Not like surprises of any kind. If anyone would like these surprise seeds, let me know...you are more than welcome to them.
Please! Anyone that sends seeds to someone, do include the planting instructions along with your name. Would really be a great help. I do like to give the person a word of thanks when I receive things..so please put your name on the envelope.
Thank you for listening here. I can get kinda long winded sometimes, so please forgive me.
All My Best

Although I agree with everyone as to wanting to know and thank the person; look at it this way. Some of God's greatest gifts are surprises! I would just pot up a couple of them and see what happens. You may just have a jewel!
If not, then the curiosity and the mystery is solved. Give thanks in all things, large and small.

CoCo, I agree in all things, but one is a little tricky for me. My printer is broken, and my hands lock up if I try to write longhanded. So instructions are out for me. There are plenty of good seed databases though. I hope my traders don't mind.
What I am getting at on instructions is whether to plant the seeds in sun or shade or are then an annual or perennial, height and width and the name of the plant or seeds would also help. Even if a person would let you know what seeds they are sending, I can always look up the information and go from there but when you receive nothing about what the seeds are, just what are we to do. I'm not about to plant something in full sun and to find out it goes in all shade or plant it in a small space and it grows to be 10 feet high and wide. Would be a waste of my time if I would have to dig it up and replant and then to find out that I have no place for it or to find out that the plant doesn't do well replanted. If a person doesn't know what the seed is how are we to look it up? Information is one thing that I don't mind looking up if I only know what to look up. A person could at least put the name or the type of seeds they are sending. Would that be too much to ask? My whole yard is all sun except for late afternoon when I start to get some shade along the back of the house so have to be careful on what I plant out here or the heat would burn them up if the seeds require to be planted in shade. With this Texas heat, it wouldn't take long for them to wither and die and what a waste of time and effort it would be. I just ask, to please put the name of the seeds that are being sent.

Ok,everyone ,Coco requires all sun plants! :)
LOL! Honibee,25 trees in your flowers beds! :( but too funny! guess I wouldn't be laughing if the same thing happened to me,tho, even tho I could use 25 trees here!
Tig,think I got some seeds from you, the longhand was a whole lot better than mine! :) Mine do tend to lock up!:(
Surprises???? guess those could go in semi-shade or 'semi-sun'.Here in Tx anyway, full sun plants are requiring filtered sun >>TOO HOT!:(
But one pet peeve: You have a return addy but u wonder who is???? So ,on mine I try to write in my DG's name by my real name. It would help so we wouldn't have to go hunt up the name! :/ ... Jane
I definitely agree about putting the name of the seed on the packet. I have a mystery pack or two myself:) keep trying to get up the courage to plant them, but with all the seeds I have that I know what they are, I don't have time to invest in an unknown.
