I tried this in the water garden forum but didn't get much help. My spousal unit is nearly through with the pond part of the papowawa (PAtio, POnd, WAterfalls, and retaining WAll. A part of the pond is raised so that there will be a small bog garden and the plants will be directly in the soil, not in pots. What soil do you reccomend? I don't want it to wash out into the pond.
Bog garden soil
Rich fertile loam.To keep it from washing out hold it in place with rooted plants,a cover such as gravel or mechanically with wire or landscape cloth. A combination of these methods is probably best.
I read to use l part clay to 1 part peat for the bog
thanks, HOniBee. I finally got some answers in the bog garden forum and I think 3 out of 4 folks suggested using at least part clay
