Check this out on EBay

Can you believe this I read about it in the paper last night and heard it on the news this morning.

Ooooo...!!! I can't wait to see who wins the bidding! LOL

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Insane is what that is! Almost a quarter million dollars and the high bidder has zero feedback.

Someone has more money than brains I'd say!

I could see significant bucks for this unusual item. The problem would be to find a preservative that would absolutely make it non-destructable. For a serious collector of the unusual this is a challenging auction. And I would say money must be no object for the winner at any price. I think the seller has a problem on his hands for sure.

Santa Fe, NM

Sorry, but that is just disgusting. Funny, though.

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

I've been in the antiques and collectables long enough to know that this is not discusting. Every dealer in the business has had a similar situation somewhere along the way when someone way over paid for something. I agree this item is more than likely a fluke and one that the seller will more than likely have to go through with the non-paying bidder routeen. He will eventually have a record sale or have to file reports proving no sale to avoid eBay fees on the selling price.

I can easily believe that some still seemingly high bid will indeed be a real bid.

For twenty years or more I have been seeking a cereal box from Korn Krisp. That company gave away a free doll for two box tops. I have the point of sale advertising and the doll. Therefore I may be the nut that would shell out what I deem as a lot of bucks for just one of those cereal boxes to complete a most unusual shadow box featuring the three items. So be it for serious collectors. To some degree we are all nuts one way or another. But some of us are ordained to do such things. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

well, the link said the item was removed . I guess I'll never know.....

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

what was it?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

A corn flake shaped like Illinois. Last time I looked it was around $240,000.00 I think.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

sheesh. I would think you could easily MAKE a cornflake shaped like Illinois any time you want.

Silsbee, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh! and to think that this morning I ate Ohio, Florida, California and Utah. I could have been rich.

I can't help but wonder exactly how you'd ship a corn flake? How could you protect it enough that it wouldn't chip or break?

Hilarious.

I read in the paper that it is 2 girls that was selling it and they had it in a box surrounded with cotton balls. But after awhile wouldn't it get soft and kinda flimsy. I wonder why it was removed from EBay?

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

Any seller for any reason without giving reason may cancel a sale listing. eBay may have a no food rule and they may do the same with reason. If that sale would have come to the dated ending there would have been an unkindly amount of work to seek justification for a no sale with eBay. The whole thing just got out of hand. Pulling the advertisement seemed like a good move to me.

Here's an even more puzzling one. She made about $80:

I'll tell her what 'special sign' she got-- somebody is mishandling her food and letting them thaw and refreeze together. Give me a break!
My son's milk bubbles formed a smiley face- Alert the media!

Gainesville, FL(Zone 9a)

Ebay said they removed it because they now have a policy against selling food.

It's always amazing what people will believe and pay good money for.
