Concerning filling in the information about a particular plant in PF;
As my native language is not English, I was wondering if the term 'deciduous' also applies for plants that goes dormant during summertime..
question about the term 'deciduous'
It simply means a perennial plant that sheds its leaves for part of the year as opposed to evergreen which may go dormant but retains its leaves.
Deciduous would cover plants that lose their leaves in the summer or in a dry season. The California Buckeye loses its leaves in summer: http://www.calfloranursery.com/pages_plants/pages_a/aescal.html
Basically deciduous means the leaves do not persist and it is not evergreen.
Thank you Farmerdill and Growin, it's perfectly clear now!
A note in the comments about when the plant loses its leaves would also help. :-)
Yes, I've been thinking about that too...

Yep - a lot of tropical plants are dry-season deciduous.
