should I give this pineapple a chance?

I had a top in my veggie garden. After reading this link today, I just tossed it.

i may have told some of you this story before regarding pineapples, but i'll tell it again! LOL

there was a vacant house down the street with a patch of pineapples situated between two maples. it was mostly shaded with just some afternoon sun. i would walk the dog past this spot and one day i noticed something yellow and went over to investigate. wow-six pineapples in various stages of growth. i picked them as they ripened and let me tell you, they were sugar-sweet and so wonderfully perfect. i couldn't believe that they would grow in the shade like that. we have also had frosts during the winters since i've lived here.

i potted the tops of all six and later transplanted them between 2 cedars (trying to duplicate the living arrangements of the mother plants) and put pinebark mulch around them. it appears that i lost two of them this winter after a fairly hard freeze but the others look good. if they ever produce and the fruit is half as good as the parents, i'll be happy!

I have a friend with a large, 3 acre, garden and she has pineapples stuck all over the place. She has a large GH but these things are too large to bring inside so they live and fruit outdoors year round.

wow Deb, that's a cool story
Alice have you had any of her fruit

I am having fits: I have pressed some button on my laptop which causes the cursor to jump back unexpectedly after typing a few characters. I want to scream!!!!!!!

No, I haven't had any but she says it is awesome and that is what I understand from others. Even GH grown pineapples are supposed to be better than the grocery store varieties.

Don't you just hate it whan a stupid machine can frustrate us like computers can.
