I just gotta ask ...

I need some names of some "DAY" flowering MGs. Some that flower during the late morning/early afternoon hours, not morning hours. Or are there any?

This article was written in 2001. I am sure that there are some cultivars created by now in 2008, right?

Youjiros will stay open provided it isn`t very hot. Hige is another one.Cloudy days will have the little red yagurumas and higes still vibrant into the evening. If your temperatures get over 90 all bets are off for daytime blooms for these. :)

I`m sure there are others the experts here can share. Karen

Dracula stayed open till about 8 PM one day..lol. And if you have a dappled area, lots of the mgs will stay open several hours.. I think I had Gray Lady stay open a couple of times into the afternoon, (I had all of them in the shade but will full difussed light coming in).. If they are in full sun, you may as well watch them melt down.

The Ipomoea obscura Ethiopia I grew the past couple of years seemed to have open flowers from noonish to later in the day.

Ipomea alba - moonflower - opens in early evening. It is fascinating to watch the blossoms unfurl in mere seconds. Fragrant. In your area it might be perennial. Yuska
