Kassia, those are lovely pictures!!!!!!! I like the hand shot! LOL
The plant that is new to you is actually a type of Jack-in-the-pulpit.
You can find them here but I need to warn you....they can get pricey!

Kassia those were some cute shots! I just LOVED those miniature gardens! Too cute!

Thanks for sharing! It was nice to see such great plants at this time of year.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Kassia for a great selection...go to Naylor Creek...they have many Jack in the pulpit (Arisaema..sp?)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Kass - beautiful!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia - you took so many more pictures than I did and your narration is the best. The mini plant for your topiary was a "miniature fushia", wasn't it? I have yet to repot my baby one.
we'll have to look into the miniature garden idea. I'd love to try one... I keep buying big, flat pots in hopes that I'll get one done....

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh thankyou Kassia for sharing your wonderful experience with the rest of us. I would have loved to have gone again, but cannot get away from here very easily and now I feel I have been able to enjoy much of the show with your help. Now if we only had smellivision it would be complete. Sounds like you had a wonderful time and brought back a ton of goodies. All good choices btw I think. I loved the shade garden and the miniature gardens. I also was happy to see so many pretty perennials like the digi and columbines with the delphs. Thanks again you made my day. :)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

my pleasure!!!!now if they had roses I think I would be in big trouble!!!! but I totally enjoyed!!!1
oh I need to get at least one Jack in the pulpit... can't get over that plant!!!!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

holly cow! I can't afford that! I mean I can get 2 roses for that amount of money... I guess I am not going to get any jack in the pulpit... sounds too much for a small plant!!!!

oh it was a good dream!!!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia, those jack-in-the-pulpit (that was my guess, which I was thrilled to see confirmed) .... don't they have any at Garden In The Woods, out by you? They're not gigantic and overgrown - j-i-t-p are supposed to be tiny little endangered woodland things. But I would check there. xxx , Carrie

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I can't wait to go back to Garden in the woods this spring sometime. I ordered a mess of woodland plants a while ago for spring shipping from this source including jack in pulpits which I have growing in Vt and love. This is the place that I found that is licensed and seems to be affordable and highly rated. I will let you know what the do for me here. DH is out right now gathering moss for an old chair we have. I showed him your pictures this morning. He loved it too. I still can't get my pics off my cell. Blue tooth is not working. Patti

great photos!... your show was way better than the one I went to

:)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

thanks... definitly a great price! I will order some... I wonder if deer like this plant... but no my shade garden will be kind of hidden...

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

Kassia, thank you so much for the "tour"! This show used to be such an inspiration for me after those long Maine winters. The miniature gardens were always my favorite :) FYI, I saw my first Arisaema sikokianum at Garden in the Woods - aren't they incredible? I'm actually writing an article about Arisaema which hopefully will be finished soon. I saw this group in the DC area several years ago and in another area (where I failed to get a photo) they were 3' tall!

Holy Cow that is some pictures!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

My pleasure... last night I was walking around the yard trying to figure out where to plant them... damp and shade... and visible to me and invisible to other animals... I wonder if the deer would eat them!!!!

oh the miniatures... the more I look at it, the worse it gets... I am going to try to do one... I have enough succulnents to try!!!!

Oviedo, FL(Zone 9b)

The Oz Dorothy miniature garden had the yellow brick road running through Boston on the way to the emerald City. You can see the dome of the State House in it.
And for future reference, those huge gorgeous tree peonies are mine!! I am stealing them so everybody else just back off! Did you get to see the amateur section, Kassia?
Here's a picture of my Jade tree and the very top of its blue ribbon that my daughter took last night. 'Hobbit' has entered the show several times before but this is its first first place.

Dear Martha, we looked for you many times.... so sorry I never got to hug you!!!!

yes I visited the amateur garden ... took pictures of some really great plants...

share the peonies will you??? Please??? I could not believe how huge!

hope to you at our Spring RU!!!!!!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Great pictures Kass!

Oviedo, FL(Zone 9b)

Sorry Kass,
They heard I was coming with my shovel and put them away really fast at the end of the show. However, I got a magnificent yellow with red highlights epiphyllum that I bought from an exhibitor. and I salvaged a bunch of potted cosmos and some calendula from the dumpster as well as a small bouquet of greenish carnations.
One of my junior exhibitors presented me with the baby pelargonium of her Mother and Baby exhibit because I admired it when she brought it in. I can't wait to see how it does.
It was a great show,
Martha

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia , I went to the flower show on Saturday with Oceangirl , Jack and my son Jamie ( he had to go for school) I am so ready for spring! it felt good to be surrounded by green! I have some Jack in the pulpit that grows in the shade next to the house . I can give you some babies if you want they are taller than the ones at the flower show though. I am sure you can get them at garden in the woods and the garden centers around here too. I am going out to prune the broken branches off of my roses today . I just brought my big clivia up from the basement today. it has 8 flower stalks on it and my yellow on has 2 they are such rewarding plants to grow and are virtually indistructible
laura

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

HI!!!!! so good to hear from you!!!! of course I want the Jack in the pulpit...thanks!!!!

I miss you!!! you are prunning your roses today???? the forsithias are not blooming yet!!! don't we have to wait for that???oh I can 't wait for spring either!!!!

my clivia is not blooming this year... :( what did I do wrong??? I had in the garage for a while and now it's in my bathroom windown not getting sun... oh I got an orange one at the flower show... that is blooming...
I killed my wax plants.... oh I am so mad... and the miniature fuchia that I got at the flower show is not doing well... I am not so good with certain plants!!!! I will stick to roses...

see you soon!

Wayland, MA(Zone 6a)

Hi Kass,
I did prune my roses today there were so many broken branches I figured it wouldn't do any harm. I didn't uncover them so I will most likely have to prune again I sealed the cut branches with a product called rose stick it looks just like a glue stick . it is supposed to stop borers from entering the cut pith and to keep them from loosing moisture through the cuts
Oh I have to go Brian is home!
laura

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

for a moment you had me all excited!!!! I have seen some broken branches but for now that's going to stay...

Let me know when the clivia is blooming... I want to see it again!!!! love that yellow...

big hig for Brian!!!!

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

kassia - did you get any pictures of the woodland stream/pond (with the ducks)? I took several but DH adjusted some of the white balance settings and they came out awful. I was hoping to use the pictures as a reminder of some modifications I want to make to my stream. If you have any that you'd be willing to share, I'd be most appreciative!!

Oviedo, FL(Zone 9b)

I had some duck pix but they didn't turn out to well either.
they blended into the landscape so well.
Martha

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

sorry the only ones I have are the ducks.... they definitly stole the show for me... I didn't even pay attention to anything else!!!!
