KaperC, I'm not sure how I missed your BE this morning... sorry... it'll go out tomorrow.
Actually, I'd like to go ahead and send these all on their way, since most of you are probably into seed-sowing time.
Jojo, Tetley, Dhemmer, Drsaul, and Darlindeb -- please Dmail me with your address. I realize you might be in the exchange, but I have no way of knowing if that address is current for you, so please just Dmail me.
The envelopes are packed and stamped and ready to go as soon as I have your addresses!
:-)
Basils, Catnip, and more for postage
Was I hiding somewhere silly? Thanks, the timing should be perfect.
Kathleen
Critter is this a new list? theres a couple of seeds I'd like to have. : )
Actually, I suspect Eliot (still a kitten even if he looks more like a cat at 9 months) was responsible for your BE's location *under* rather than on the front hall table! LOL
Linda, yes, this is probably a different list than you've seen on another offer thread. The available seeds change according to what I manage to label & pack and the extras that I get in trades. I'm sorry, but I decided to close out this offer at 10 people, after it had been up for a week. (See post above and edit on first post of thread.)
critter
haven't you received my postage yet?
i mailed it 4 or 5 days ago.
Thats way ok, you sent me some great seeds. Thank you so very much. Maybe hang on a couple of those friendship tomato seeds for me on another seed giving offer : ).
I can't wait tell I try those peppers you sent and the basil,
thank again Critter.
I've only received postage from 4 people so far. Don't ask me to explain USPS mailing times, LOL. I'm sure it'll get here. Meanwhile, if you'll Dmail me your address, I'll get your seeds in the mail. Thanks!
Speaking of USPS… Just dying to tell this story somewhere on here. Last year I ordered some seeds from a reputable company. They never came, they never came… I called them and they sent out new ones free of charge. Guess what came in the mail yesterday? You betcha. My packet of seeds from last year. Post marked April 4, 2007!!! No note from the P.O. saying that they were stuck in a machine or anything.
Go figure!
That's remarkable. Postage getting hung up along the way doesn't bother me... it'll get here eventually. But I sure hope the seeds all get to their destinations quickly! :-)
Hello. I mailed out the postage and label this morning. I decided against leaving it in my driveway box because of recent mailbox vandalism in my neighborhood, and took it into town to the post office. I hope it does not take to long to arrive, but wanted to let you know it is on the way. Holly
OK!
For anybody still getting theirs out... sorry I wasn't clear, but there's no longer any need to include an address label, since you all Dmailed me your addresses and I already sent out the packets. :-)
Dr_Saul, please Dmail me with your address or confirm if you're still current in the exchange so I can get yours in the mail. Thanks!
WOWEEE! Hey Jill, I got my package today and it was like Christmas. I love all the extras you sent. OMG, I can't WAIT to get in the garden. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Mine arrived too! Thanks so much, Critter!
You're welcome!
Happy Sowing!
can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…can't wait…
Got my envie today. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful presents!
I got mine today too. Everything looks great! I'm really excited about the special basil, and all the other seeds are fabulous as well. Everything is so nicely packaged and labelled. Thank you for all your effort and generosity. Holly
You're welcome! I hope you all have fun with the seeds... Happy Sowing! And Happy Easter! :-)

"Fate and seasons smile on all,
From sunrise to the dark night fall,
This bounty from both earth and tree,
Was made to share, twixt you and me,

Our thanks, for life and health this day."

Thanks, Diana!
Happy Spring & Happy Easter!
I got back from my incredibly looong Easter trip and amid the ugly pile of bills and junk mail was a wonderful yellow envelope with many little packets of joy inside!
Thanks so much Critter, can't wait to try those peppers!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Joey
I got mine today!
Thanks so much!!
Darin
I hope everybody has fun trying something new in their garden this year! All postage made it through the mail -- thanks! An extra thank-you to those who sent extra postage for the "kitty." I'll put it to good use... and if you see another "for postage" offer from me in the future, just let me know if you've already sent enough postage to cover you for another packet. :-)
I got my goodies today! Thanks Critter!
Karen
Jill, since it's warm here, how soon can I move seedlings out to the greenhouse instead of keeping them under lights? I don't have a lot of room under the lights, but lots of room outside.
I don't have a greenhouse, and it's quite a bit cooler here... but I can tell you that basil likes warmer weather (eg, low temps in the upper 40's and lower 50's at least) and won't tolerate frost. Remember that changing their environment gradually (eg, hardening off) is the key... don't suddenly switch them to lots more sunshine (real sun is a lot brighter than the lights) or hotter/colder temps... either move them in and out for longer periods, or protect them when they're outside (row cover, etc.)
Hmm, I was going to put my article on hardening off on the schedule for later in April, but maybe it should be earlier for folks in warmer zones... :-)
My greenhouse is 90-100 during the day now and it's still about 70 in the a.m. I was hoping I could get the seedlings out there pretty quickly, but I see what you mean, that would be a pretty abrupt change. I'll have to figure something to do in between.
Thanks. Yes, the hardening off article would be good . . . soon. ;-)
I think they could probably go out there, but I'd suggest shading them with row cover the first few days to protect them a bit... and make sure they're kept moist. If you can bring them inside in the afternoon (presumably the hottest part) the first day, that would probably help too. The folks in the greenhouse forum might be of more help than I. :-)
Could I be on the list for the next time you have Italian Basil to give??? It sounds great and I am always on the look out for good basil for culinary purposes. Sorry I missed this post the first time around. I would love to try your Friendship tomato, too. I have seeds of a huge tomato (the plant and the fruit) from Pennsylvania. I don't know the name of it, but I love it. The fruit is pleated. Thanks
Beebonnet
Beebonnet, check out the offer thread below my DG article on basil last week... yep, I'm going to make you look for it, LOL.. but then I'll send you seeds! ;-)
It's like an easter egg hunt
There are several different ways to find the articles, so hopefully it won't be too tough! LOL I wouldn't have teased a newcomer like that, but it looks like beebonnet has been with us for several years... hopefully I haven't stepped on his/her toes! (If you get really stuck, just Dmail me with your address... but I think you'd enjoy the article. :-)
