Mine is not invasive, but does get out of control with branches,(I put it in the wrong spot, it gets rather large) never thought of taking cutting of it, but has surprised me that I have not seen that color in the Cats. I will do my best in taking some cutting, never done that before, but will figure it out.
When are you coming? Would love to have you, and bring your pruners and snip away. Have pots.
This was taken last year.
Need help whats Wong with my Rhody.
lol... well it would take me over 7 hours to get there! we are planning sometime to go see a few more lighthouses up your way this summer so i wll let you know!! :) very nice pic
I've got the Gardenwise Western Washington Invasive Plant booklet, 2007 edition, (thanks to a link provided by Susybell eons ago ~ and I can't remember exactly where or in which thread ~ so here is the link again ~ http://www.invasivespeciescoalition.org/). Buddleia davidii is in there as a Class C Washington State noxious weed.
I just talked to my sister and I going to try to go this coming Sunday. I would probably get to her place around 10:30 or 11:00. Could come before or after. Cuttings are easy. Cut below a node and above a node, make one straight cut and one slanted cut so you will know which end is up. Usually three or four nodes to a cutting. Put on some root tone and stick it in dirt. Buddleia root very easily. This isn't the ideal time but it would probably work anyway.
And you'll want to get green stem, not woody. Patricia -nice, quick, precise instructions. You should write a book for those of us in a hurry. I like "cutting" to the chase. LOLOLOL.
I have a variegated Buddleia with a purplish blossom. This is going to be its year. Mary, that's an awesome color - I'll put in a request for any extra cuttings that root. :-) It's a beautiful picture, too!!

I would rather wait until I have more time and would get to meet you. Maybe when my daughter and I go to visit Heidi's nursery this summer.
Kate - yes, yes, yes. I was just thinking on the way home tonight that I need to do several hydrangea cuttings. Maybe a couple of buddleia, star magnolia, hamamelis, clethra, my pink rhody, my Northern Lights scented azalea, . . . .
Had a nice visit from the deer tonight. They stood about 25 feet away and munched on weeds while I talked to a visitor in the front yard. No camera with me, alas.
This is kind of funny Willow I was thinking the same thing today, are you planing the trip to Heidi's? If so I will see you there, that is the first day of my VAC. So the rest of the week will be totally involved with "Woodland Phase 2" Already have some pics ready, but not ready to release yet. Going to be a surprise.
/tilly, Had a change of plans for Sunday. Forgot our daughter is coming out to show pictures of her trip to Hondursus. Will go to Suquamish on Monday instead. I'm not sure of any dates yet, but we have talked about going to Heidi's.^_^
Going to Heidi's on the 27th? I'm going on the 27th. I'd love to meet you.
April 27th? I'll have to ask her and see if she can go that early. She is a teacher so we work on her schedule. That would be really fun.
We're going to Dragonfly and to Hostajim's (I wheedled my way in). Hostajim has lots of shade-lovers, woodland plants, and, of course, Hosta's that he hybridizes. And he makes those cement balls for yard art that you see in pictures of Dragonfly Farms Nursery.
If you sign up for Heidi's e-mail newsletter here http://www.dragonflyfarmsnursery.com/, you can see a picture with one of them in this month's newsletter.
Willow, this next week is all messed up for me anyway, Big muck Mucks are flying in from Ohio, and Calif. to tour are stores, And my new boss wants me on hand, so I don't know if I will even have a day off.
So Please see if your friend can make it to Heidi's. I will definitely be there, Thats the first Day of my vac.
^_^
