Only one bloom from this guy so far but it stayed true from the harvested seeds I got in the fall. I hope they all do. They were either purple or blue. This bloom seems bigger than last summers, maybe because I am feeding them more...
Hirosaki inside winter bloom
Very pretty!
Yes, it is beautful. :)
Karen
Is this the first bloom on a new vine or a new bloom on an old vine?
Thanks Alice and Karen!
Beth it is the first bloom on a new vine...
Ah, maybe that's why it's bigger. I always seem to have my biggest bloom as the first one a vine makes.
Nice bloom Ronnie.
Thanks Jackie!! Beth that's an interesting observation, I'll watch for that..
That's beautiful... Ronnie, are the leaves claw-like, I've got three seedlings growing from you and the leaves look claw-like.. I love the different shapes of the leaves on top of the flowers too.
Hi A. thanks!! Yes they are claw like and a lighter green, very different. I honestly wasn't real impressed with the plant last summer but wanted to try it inside to see if it was going to stay somewhat true. I like it much better inside than out for some reason. Could be it's windy and cold out and not summer time yet!! But under my bright light a burst of warmth and color!! LOL
Thanks Joseph, I had that same thought. Do you know what Fujishibori leaves look like?
Fujishibori has variegated cicada leaves.. Big leaves and darker green ..
I can hardly wait till this one blooms.
A.
LOVE IT!
Interesting observation about this vine, Ronnie! It is very attractive and I hope you get a lot more blooms and some seeds!
