Amber is Here!!

DH particularly doesn't think it makes for a good night's sleep, since Chile takes up more than his 1/3 of the bed at 135 pounds! I don't have a problem with it, but by the time Tim's ready for bed, there's not a lot of space selection left for him. The most comforting feeling to me is when Chile curls up partly on my leg then uses my belly for his pillow. I LOVE that!

Me.too.

I got a bigger bed (and there's only one of me humans), and it doesn't seem to help. You just really need to get your spot first and then sleep heavy so they can't encroach. Good theory, but still working on my technique.

Good Morning, the sun is shining here. You have to do the sprawl then one animal can get between each limb and have their very own space.

We are going on Saturday to look at a companion for Amber. It will be a silver female who has just recently had puppies. Amber is just amazing. You can see her thinking and when she gets it right she just beams. She went to meet my DH at the door today for the first time. She is doing well in all aspects of her adjustment to us. And loves to cuddle.

Patricia, that's exciting news!!! Will the new dog be related to Amber? Is it a dog she knows?

Companions are the greatest, we got Tyler for Ester to play with, then she hurt herself getting out of the car ( she is a big girl 96 lbs. and got caught in the seat belt and fell on her head), which caused a spinal injury which has been a long recovery (8 mos) during Esters illness poor Tyler ( who was not a year yet). was always getting in to trouble, and could not understand why She didn't play anymore. Now She is back to herself.
And the happy dog she used to be and so is Tyler.
Took this today, running all over. So happy that She is back to herself.

And Amber needs a furry friend.

Catch the dogs, running.
Such a happy site for me, Love my dogs.

Tilly - you got an action shot and an zzzzzzzzzzzzz shot...

I'm a firm believer of ~ if you have one, you should have two ~ unless you are home with them all the time. Being pack animals, they can get very lonely when left alone. I've never had only one and doubt if I ever will.

Outta that is an amazing photo of the cuddle. We are here all the time. If we aren't my mom is, But I want her to have someone to play with. She does know this new dog, but I don't think they are related. I met her when we were there before. I was holding a pup and she came over to see what was taking so long. She is real cute a bit bigger.
That picture of the one dog just sleeping on the board is so cute. Just flaked out.
I talked to the lady today and we are going Saturday afternoon to look at her.

Outta - what a great picture. Can't believe that Chile was ever that small. Of course, baby Chile wasn't as small as some babies are.

So happy, Mary, that Ester has recovered.

Patricia - it will seem like forever until Saturday comes. I think it's nice for dogs to know other dogs, even if their people are always there. There are some dog behaviors that we can't (and don't want to) emulate. LOL I'm anxious to hear how the visit goes.

Well now Mitzi is here. She is three years old and silver. She has just weaned her pups. I picked her up Saturday and we have her for a week to she if she fits. I spent all day grooming her and she actually laid down and went to sleep while I was doing her feet. Now she looks like a poodle. She is a cuddler also. She is now rolling on the bed and having fun. She looks 1/2 size smaller that when we got her. And yes I have a picture just can't send it. I will get one of them together. Apricot and Silver. Cute.

Willow ~ Congratulations on the new arrival! I hope everything works out for all of you, and it does sound promising. Like I said before, if you have one you MUST have two. I'm sure the girls will be very happy together. And apricot and silver? Nice...like sunset and sunrise ^_^

Mitzi and Amber mmmm, has a nice ring to it. girlfriends forever, and the colors to boot. Sounds like a keeper Willow. And ya gotta have two LOL
^_^

I'm sure she's a keeper. She just adores my husband and it is mutual. We found out she has a bladder infection and got her some meds today from the breeder who works for our vet in Shelton. They are walking around rubbing against each other they are so close. And when they peek up over the board that on the gate with their little white and black heads, you have to LOL. Patricia

I love that they're so close already. What a pair of sweeties. I'm so excited for you guys. And for Mitzi and Amber, who clearly have found a nice place to spend their retirement.

Congratulations!!

How wonderful to hear about Mitzi and Amber - lucky pups, that's for sure!

OH GREAT DAY! The dogs are playing, running in circles and at least touching the toys. The cat has decided she likes both of them, so she is back to her normal routine. She also thinks it funny to cry really loud to go outside so the dogs will run out first and she can stroll out at her leisure. This was a good decision after all. The change in Amber is surprising and what I was hoping would happen. She is acting more like a dog and much braver. The change in Mitzi is her name. DH didn't like it and changed it to Mindy which she answers to very nicely. The dogs sleep together at the foot of the bed and the cat is back either on me or very near the dogs. Big ^_^

Perfect. All's well with the world ~ *sigh*
