Anyone see hummers yet?

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

I saw my first hummer last Thursday....he was staring at the spot where the feeder usually hangs so I guess he is returning from last year. I hurried up and got the feeders up and now there are two hanging around in the yard. They are feeding on the salvia and brazos penstemon as much as the feeders!

I have two pairs this year. Last year only had one pair that didn't show up until mid season. One of the hens is definitely smaller. But they are all very busy zipping from feeder to feeder (I have four...Im being very optimistic)!!

Lovely evening last night so I sat on the porch and watched the birds. A lone male hummer came to the yellow Crown of Thorns ~ Euphorbia and went from one bloom to the next. He ignored the red COT sitting right next to it. From there, he hit the Society garlic for dessert and zipped away. Totally ignored the fresh feeders too...

After working outside most of the day, I am still seeing very few hummers and they are quite shy.

Have had about a dozen Ruby-throats since Easter Sunday. Not one bit shy, what fun!

If these move on I sure hope my old buddies the Black-chins show up again for the summer.

For some reason they seem to like the Cedar Sage out by the driveway lately. It doesn't even get watered, but it's blooming!
