DH was interested in purchasing some as a privacy fence.
Do you know the price?
We requested the informational DVD but have not received any acknowledge from them.

I don't know much about those specific trees, but I think most willows have somewhat invasive roots, so you want to be careful of them near foundations, water lines, etc. And I think in general they need a fair amount of water, so with all the drought conditions that seem to be happening in many areas of the country I don't know if they're the best choice (and if you don't give them enough water, even if the trees can live on less you won't see the fast growth which is probably what you're buying them for)

The company that sells them also does a very good line in snake oil.

If the price is more than $0.10 per plant, don't buy them. They are ultra simple to propagate from cuttings, just stick a twig in the ground and it'll root and grow.

As to what it is - a hybrid willow, cross between European Salix alba and Asian Salix babylonica. Very fast-growing, short-lived, prone to various diseases and early decay, and not terribly attractive. And with an open crown, not very effective as a screen, particularly in the winter.
