Love the Sinningias!!! I notice you seem to have yours wicked...I didn't have good luck with that although I wick many others, wonder what I did wrong? I currently have mine domed (mostly minis, though) so they don't dry too much, but don't know what to do for my larger ones. I have S. 'Mother's Day' and S. 'Seminole' and don't know what to do with them, although 'Mother's Day' has 2 buds. I suspect they need repotting.

Bonnie,
I want to share with you a plant I grew from seed called sinningia piresiana which is a species and the blooms from the gesneriad society reference page looks exactly like yours. Mine have not bloomed yet.

Hi Violetmom;
You do not have to dome your sinns,no matter what medium your useing.Alot of people just dome there micro's & even them you don't have to.I do wick mine & my mix is 1 pt pro mix,1 pt vermiculite & 2 pts pearlite.It's a lite mix as i do all my plants.the humidity in my room is 45 %, & i don't dome any of mine.Kim, i should have plenty to swap with all of you.I do have lots of plants.lol & i am always getting more.Gessiegal your piresana will grow beautiful, i really love mine & am trying to cross it with another plant as the bloom is really cool.

Oh, it's always so exciting when you see those little "ears" popping up above the soil! Yep, it doesn't take long to run out of space when you start propagating plants! You can always hang them from the ceiling! LOL.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

There's a limit to how many you can hang on the ceiling... eventually, you reach that limit, too.

Oh, wait. I don't have to hang them only in front of windows, do I?

;-)

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Dimmer, how exciting for both you and Susan. I had no idea Susan was into streps. Congratulations to the both of you!!
You are organized I will say! I can never find the name of anything I have so now I am trying to memorize what the foliage looks like...pathetic I am!
