What am I?

LOL My neighbors are going to think I have gone totally mad with something that large growing in my yard!!!! I think it is amazing to have it, even if it is common. I can't wait to pot her up and watch her grow!!! I will be sure to post pics once it is nice and big! Thanks for all the help on the ID and the pics!!!

Hi! Mistygardener, On Saturday, I brought a bag of the same thing at Sam's (Walmart's big Brother). There is about 10 in the bag, and they average 3-5 1/2 in wide for $15.00. The label says Colocasia Elephant Ear. The anticipated size is 9-11 ft. I did not really think they would do anything, but I wanted some so bad, I figured I would try them. LOL

Hi jsx! Our Wally World didn't have this type in the bag, I don't think. DH is the one who found it. He said there was a tag on the floor, but he wouldn't have known if it went with it or not. I guess all the ones like Tropicanna was talking about had already sold, which is why he couldn't find anything for comparison. Does your package say how deep to plant yours? I don't wanna go too deep or too shallow. I wanna be sure to give it a head start before warm weather, then plant it out and watch it grow! :) With 10 of them, do you have a REALLY big yard? LOL

The label says: plant 2-3 in. deep. 24 in. apart

I would put some in pots. I will do that, but I plan to put mine in the ground when it is warm enough.
