I have a 6 foot tall Styrax japonica which has many branches. Last year, I took off some of the lower branches. It is still very bushy, and appears to be splitting into a double leader. I have no experience with pruning, and would like to know what I should do with this tree. Keep pruning off lower branches? Cut off one of the double leaders or let them both grow? How much and how should I deal with the many branches it has? Thanks for your help.
How to prune Japanese Snowbell tree
I have similar questions. When is the best time to prune?
I can see that double-leader in there. You might want to remove the weaker leader. The best way to prune a Styrax is not at all. They really don't look that great after a pruning and, other than crown-raising (removing the lower branches), they shouldn't need any pruning.
