Found a patch of yellow/golden eggs on the backyard grass this morning. Put a glass dome over them (to wait and see what they turned into). They started turning brown/rust in a few minutes (so took the dome off). Touched them and they turned into orangish liquid on my fingers. I know eggs are hard to identify. Still, any ideas?
CLOSED: Good/bad? Yellow/golden eggs on grass.
I believe you have there some variety of slime mold (a soil fungus).
It's definitely a fungus. It may turn black once it matures.
