WARNING!!! Spring is Fast Approaching!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm with you kdcon, I much prefer rain to snow!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh but a few inches of rain with all this snow and we could be boat-bound instead!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, all that rain means I stay inside and winter sow more seeds :-)

DH was very careful to grade all the yard away from the house and we have a dry well to drain the driveway.

We really are very fortune because our soil drains so well.

But I know that people who live along streams and creeks often suffer this time of year.

Pixie, just got the plans for that Ark. Going to put Tank & Raven right on construction. Those G. Shepards and B. Collies are supposed to be real smart and like to work, we'll see. Here they are planning their strategy. ::)) kdcon

Kd,
I have 2 Chinooks for pulling, not much in the brain dept., for that I have my 2 Blk. Labs but I do not foresee building a ark by tonight or even tomorrow!!

My driveway is full of mud
and up to my ankles,
I want gardening duds
for now I'm in shankles.

oops shankles is not a word. Thought it was the old metal cuffs with chains. Sounds good though.

Still slurring, Sherrie? That was mean, I'm sorry. Now you've made me think of sherry! The word you want is shackles! And I agree, it sounds terrific. xxx, Carrie

Pixie, I'm afraid you are right. Just went to check on their progress and it seems the planing stage was tiring for Tank and Raven had skipped off to work w/ her Ma. My canoes are all up north but the life jackets are here ::)) kdcon

It isn't far away...I am in New Jersey and aside from the huge rain we are supposed to have tonight through Saturday night...most of the ground is unfrozen. My front yard and side yards are already cleaned up and at least 1/2 of the backyard. We have had a few days around 63-64. One day it was 73 and then the next I woke up to 17 but that was a few weeks ago. My daffodils, hyacinth and primrose are up a few inches. After finishing the backyard, I wait to see someone's forsythia bloom so I know it is time to put the corn gluten on the lawn.

kdcon, those pictures of your dogs are a riot! Thanks for the laughs.

Welcome ERIKRYAN!

Tank looks wiped out, it was too much for him all alone huh?

It's been pouring here off and on, as long as it's not snow... im good.
My boat is in the backyard, and the canoe is up by the house should I need it. Got the paddles out and the lifejackets and my floating totes with dry food and clothing in them. I'm all set!! Bring it on!!!!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

don't tempt them...

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

all I need is snowshoes. we have about a foot and it hasn't stopped yet. this is more snow than we've had all winter. I'm kind of hoping it won't melt too soon so it will do it's job and protect the plants from all the spring thaw/freeze cycle for a while.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Wow! Frankly, I am thrilled to see the snow go! NO MORE SNOW FOR ME!!!!! ( . . . . I hope . . . .)

Had a lot of rain, though.

Alfred, ME(Zone 4a)

Gram, you send the trucks and I will give you enough snow to cover 10 acres, 3 ft. deep. Free, and if you order now I will throw in 2 inches of solid ice at no cost also. ::)) kdcon

KD, too funny! I have less snow than yesterday....still can't see the ground but less snow!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I have MUCH less snow today - just a strip along the fence on the left side of the yard. Daffodils and crocuses are poking through the dirt! Hurray!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Everyone remember to turn the clocks? It will be so nice to have daylight after supper again. We are going in the right direction, now if the weather would do the same it would be the best of times. Spring is almost here people!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Yippee!!!!!!! I can hardly wait!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

um, Michaela, I haven't actually checked for daffodils or crocuses..... ooops! x, Carrie

It is! Lots of little green shoots but blooms are sparse. Monte Carlo and Red Emperor tulips emerged today. Hadn't expected to see them until next month.

Your lucky. All we can do up here and beyond is "dream on"

Great news David! Your time will come, Sherrie.
