Ok, Ted, didn't know abaoaut it. What was it. You know that might be a good way to "pay it forward" Find some people or organizations who could use seeds . Like some of the people displaced by the hurricanes? They have to start their yards all over again.
Ted, I understand completely-the wonderful DGers who are helping with a newbie welcome swap right now have been amazing..we have already gotten together enough seed packs to send out to just under 25 new members and each envie containing 50 packets...that would be 1250 seed packets!! Many more sitting here in front of me ready to go out with many more newbie envelopes coming in.
There are so many members who have been helpful-and gone above and beyond, I would be afraid I would leave someone out-you all know how bad my memory is-so THANK YOU ALL!!! You have made many many new members happy and have many more to do....Thanks!-DGers are the best!!!

I had posted previously about there being WAY too many to mention. But I do want to mention a couple in particular-cyndiehook!!! She went out of her way to make up a special package just for my 5 year old daughter with wonderful seeds and pictures. She has so enjoyed coloring the pictures, and Cyndie is just a wonderful girl!!! pixie62560 also went out of her way to make a wonderful package for my daughter and myself to plant together!!!!! A great big THANK YOU to them, and everyone else that has been so wonderful!!!

I just received 3 big gardening books for my rather frustrating area to garden in and a friend here who wants to be anonymous, sent me three books and now is sending me seeds and helping me with accessories to make a cloner out of an ice chest for propigating cuttings.
You can make real friends here in Cyber garden world. I also received a stained glass memorial to my dog that just got put down, from Betty Pauze and a huge box of plants from the Bay area from my friend Lizrainy here at dg. I have a lot of really generous friends here, also Marieortiz who shares stuff with me and is bringing me cotton seeds from Az. to the big Western Regional RU this year.
All of you if you ever get a chance to go to it, you have to go.
AngelG1111 she just sent me a bunch of seeds and that was soooo sweet of her because I think my sase had no stamp on it. Like a moron.
Oh ya and Tuinkabouter sent me foreign gopher plant seeds (euphorbia seeds) and maybe the american native gophers will run for Mexico if I am lucky.
I have no idea where to even begin. From the first day I joined Dave's, my family doubled.
I must start with the wonderful folks on the coleus forum. As a brand new gardener, they welcomed me with open arms and lots of cuttings. Brinda, Sugarweed, Georgiagarden, TARogers, Unique Treasures, alice_sunn and Jadajoy Thank you all for your wonderful help, encouragement and enabling.
Lala_Jane, who has become my friend and confidant, teacher and comforter. If I only got one thing out of Dave's, it would be you, La.
Distantkin cannot have enough said about her. Her generosity of heart has thrilled many a newbie and I am honored to call her my friend. Thanks for all the seeds, dear.
Mittsy, you took me and my daughter into your heart and I can never repay you for all your kindness, from the encouraging words to the children's seeds book that Teensy still talks about and can't wait to get started. I love you, Mom.

oh my, my, my - where does one start? If I were to list all the reasons why Dave's Garden has become such an important part of my life it would bore you all, as you probably have many of the same reasons (that Cyber Group thing...). There is Illoquin who has taught me more than multiple college level courses, and all the wonderful people from the Piggie Seed Swap for their generosity as well as continuing to share their experiences and advice, Weezingreens, pamsue, ansonfan, pensacolajames, jsxtiger, Tuinkabouter, bluespiral, blueglancer, maozamom, susybell, lala_jane, grampapa, seandor, kd2000, lebug, Starlight, wind, margaran, meredith79, fairy1104, robynznest, shirley1md - I know I'm missing folks! I also owe a great deal to a bunch of folks in the Ohio River Valley Group - they are wonderful and supportive, offering laughs and a shoulder when it's needed; Dusty, George, Joyce, Sue, Melissa, Marcy, Neal, Ric & Robyn, Chele, Toni, LurkerLou :), Bonnie. And even more people beyond that; Sharran, Soulja, Sofer, Carol and Ava, I'm missing folks there!

Isn't it nice to find a "second home"? I always think I can do anything, so I took on these co ops thinking I could do it. Well, I'm doing it but not without help!! I've already talked about this on a post earlier, but won't do it again, but I can't believe the help and encouragement I get.
I really can't believe the people on here at 2:00 in the morning when I come on cause I can't sleep!!! So we have someone to talk to even in the middle of the night
