Starting MG Seed Question

Buffalo, MN(Zone 4a)

I've been reading the informational thread by Bluespiral about starting MG seeds in coffee filters and ziplock baggies. I have a couple of questions about pre-soaking the seeds:

1) The instructions call for soaking the seeds in water and "food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide"-I have 3% medical grade (actually the label doesn't say what grade it is but it's for cleaning wounds and such) H202-will that work?

2) Instead of changing the soaking solution frequently to keep it warm, can I just place the little cups on my heat mat until they swell-or is it important to keep changing it to keep it fresh?

I'm all set to go with this tomorrow-wish me luck!
Thanks-
Deb

Yes, and yes....your 3% will work just fine. I have used it but found it really wasn't necessary in my application.

Deb,
I most grow purpurea´s but some nil too. I always put the seen in water, nothing else, over the night or one day more untill they sink. Only regular roomstemperatur and no more, and I think I always success with the seeds I grow.

I put white cypressvine into water over the night list week, and then to pottingsoil after three days the seeds begin sprout.
