I was at the Seattle Arboretum on the weekend and noticed this Corylus maxima 'Atropurpurea Superba' which was quite stunning. I believe it's also got purple leaves. Just thought I'd share.
Red catkin Hazel
Very nice!
Lovely! I wonder if it would be hardy for my zone.
Considering how nice it is, I'd give it a try and try and protect it. Not sure where to get it from.
The Corylus maxima purpurea has purple leaves and thrives in full sun to part shade in zones 4-8.
I wanted one myself for the corner of my house. But they say these are best for hedges......?
They can be very attrctive.
Wow...I may have to get one of those for myself! It's beautiful.
Ecrane, I got mine from Forestfarm, and I also have the other purple leaf one "Ruby".
They were small but growing great!
