oh how strange....I feel very lucky that we don't have much in the way of snails out here...I had a huge problems with slugs in Colorado. It's all a trade off...
And I don't know too many gardener's who's gardens are "finished"...aren't they always a work in progress? That's what makes them fun!
night blooming jasmine
This is true...you should see the slugs in Washington...giant...and the colors...purple, brown...spots...you name it...
Your right, alot of my friends here have their gardens torn apart doing new things!
We find those slimy little creatures on the bottom of pots, the moon snails hiding in trays. The everpresent striped slugs seem to be GONE! My holster has a salt shaker.... armed and deadly!!!
LOL! "There ain't room in this garden for two of us, Sluggo, so get outta town by noon or it's the salt treatment"..
lol
'cept everytime I open a box of salt I have to use it up or it turns into a puddle within 48 hours!!!
Have you tried putting it in a plastic container with some rice? Works out here.
Yes...for some reason, it still clogs up!!! The best is the Hawaiian Sea Salt in plastic which we microwave to dry up.
mmmm burnt salt
Well, you are normally wetter than us...so I can sure understand. However, it seems as though we are trying to be like the Big Island...more rain today, all day! Very depressing!
Randy...all my spice powders turn to hard lumps in the bottles...I scrape out a teaspoon of onion powder or whatever...Its very frustrating!
Your preaching to the choir here! Mine are the same way.
I have started keeping my spices out on the 'Island'...they don't get moldy there. In the drawer by the stove (I thought, OH, the stove will keep them warm=dry) they clump up and smell like last years' wet suit you forgot to dry out!!! My chile peppers (from Latino stores in Washington) live in tightly screwed caps on big GLASS bottles. No mold yet!! Smell=moisture travels thru plastic so quickly...glass is the only way I can keep anything dry. Can't find bottles big enough for my clothes!!!
C
I thought the same thing keeping them above the stove...but they do better in the pantry.
I'm really getting low on pepper too...special Island pepper....special island pepper a cool friend brought me...
Send me a d-mail.... probably the same pepper I buy!!!!
Shari brought it while she was here..and I use it in everything..very nummy
OH THAT one...LOVE it!!
Okay dear ones...pepper will go out this coming week!
Carol, I think this will work everytime...we have to remember the double team thing..heheheh..
Thankyou dearest friend Shari!
sniff, sniff
sounds like someone got into the pepper! sniffles
LOVE IT!!!
Christi - why the sniffles? Need pepper?? Oh, who wants what? I have whole black, white and mixed, and ground black or white.
Someone say my name?? LOL
Just aggravating you, sweetheart. I really don't need pepper. Just kidding because Rj and Carol were getting something I wasn't. Just a joke.
I love you,
Kilikina
LOL...hahahah...as a matter of fact several times!
We were being sibling like Shari...
I'd like the mixed please.
You guys get the pepper and someone send me fresh tropical fruits. LOL. All the ones up here taste like cardboard. Yuck!!
oh geee, Pepper. What if you had the recent taste test I have had. Been trying to eat bananas. YUCK! No comparison. Think I will just have to move in with Jenny. No choice. I wouldn't be quite as fuffy if I had that kind of fruit.
Aloha,
PRINCESS KILIKINA

Mike I'm probably two months too late, but I have the same problem with my cestrum. Leaf hoppers do me in every year. Can't even notice them because they are the exact same color as the leaf. One little guy can do alot of damage. I didn't cut mine back, 'cause I want to enjoy the blossoms before I go back to NY, but I did spray it with Neem oil, and immediately wiped out the problem. Two Tablespoons of Neem or Volck oil to one gallon of water. I do it at night so the leaves don't burn in the sun. Also works on mealybugs and powdery mildew. Hope I helped a little at least.
