Mom has been trying to start seeds from a datura plant that was given her last year, but they do not seem to be coming up. Can you start the plant from seed? Or how do you get it started??
how do you start the datura plants?
The seed responds better if nicked and soaked in very warn water. The only one that I find more difficult to germinate are the yellows. Cindy
This one comes up from seed in our garden every year. Your mom may be surprised when the weather warms up! Helen
If your Datura seeds just won't germinate no matter what you do they often will if you treat them with GA3. A good source for GA3 in Canada is Gardens North - here's a link to the page: http://gardensnorth.com/catalogue/database.cgi?Mode=List&Field=Category&Search=OTHER%20PRODUCTS Scroll down just a little more than halfway. I have used this with great success myself.

Yes, Gardens North is a good source of GA3 as well as a fantastic source for perennial seeds. I've ordered from Kristl for 16 years and have never been disappointed.
