Huntington Chinese Garden opens, see Public Garden forum

Redondo Beach, CA(Zone 11)

It is amazing how many Chinese plants are at home here in California. There are a few new and unusual plants to enjoy. The Chinese pallet even looks great surrounded by our California native Oaks!

Enjoy

Yes, It's a fascinating garden. I got a sneak preview of it in late February! Very impressive! Thanks for posting the pics. t.

It is impressive and quite authentic-feeling (having visited more than a few public gardens in China). Remember to pause and appreciate the views framed by doorways and window-openings!

I would recommend visiting on a weekday if at all possible, though; the Chinese garden was particularly packed with visitors to the point where it was impossible not to [have to] listen to other people's conversations! It's nice they provided -- on the viewing platform -- tables and chairs for having a lunch-snack, which we did.
