Why does...

My son constantly bang his head into things consistently harder each time until he makes himself cry?

Probably the same reason he hides when i try and change his diaper.

He's secretly out to drive me daft!

Awe, then he smiles at me with those huge brown/green eyes and i forget my threats of selling him to the gypsies.

Crims,

My ds did the same thing when he was a wee one, some 34 years ago. I spoke with a child psch and he wasn't too concerned. He said the boy would quit when it hurt bad enough. He was right. And at 34 his head is still in one piece, albeit a little balding now.

I wonder if it's related to rocking one'sself to sleep. My son did that. He could really rock. And had a brief mild spell with night terrors- sounds worse than it is. Or he is just getting an early start on driving you nuts so you don't suffer too bad with empty nest syndrome.

With mine it was a temper tantrum thing, trying to get attention. Plain and simple.

So you might think about what is happening when the head banging is going on.
When in doubt never hurts to mention to the doc. Chances are you wil be relieved if you were worried.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

lol.
The Dr laughed at me when I mentioned it, LOL.
He's just a headstrong boy and knows i freak out thinking about brain damage LOL.
Nows he's taken to removing his diaper and hiding it. LOL

Empty nest syndrome, that is gonna suck lol.
You get used to having them at your heels.
Although, I am looking forward to the day he starts going hunting with his dad, maybe then i can go to the potty, LOL!

well, joke's on him cuz you already have him figured out! you're better than me. Now, bout the diaper thing, why not introduce him to Daddy's friend, Mr. Duct Tape? see him get THAT diaper off!!

Mine are 17, 14 and 11. I have been pottying awhile. Then my DH had to have a puppy. Now I have the at the heels thing again AAAGH!!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

LOL!!
Duct tape I shall remember! Man, is there anything that stuff can't do LOL!!

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

yeah there's something it can't do...tear right when I try! LOL Try going potty here when it's storming...don't get the door shut fast and you've got 4 BIG dogs all trying for your lap at the same time!! just isn't enough room on the throne for all of us. :-))

LOL.. remember trying to go potty with a toddler?
I assume it's alot like the dog thing, hahaha!

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

one was easy...four isn't !!!

LOL!!!

well, with a good sized dog, they are not too shy about sticking their nose everywhere, if you get my drift. I don't know what's worse, that or the toddler watching and being a thinking being interested in the process.

hehehe gotta love dogs and kids.
