I'm not sure what's going on. I planted 10 trays of seeds this weekend, using soil blocks. I put plastic or domes on top of all. I know it was a bit wet, so I left them a crack open. Last night when I got home from work, about half the trays are *covered* with fuzz on top of the soil and on the sides of the blocks. What is going on? I am thinking it must be related to moisture. Is it just mold? Are the seedlings-to-be ruined? WHat should I do? Trying not to panic. Thanks.
Yikes! My Seedlings Have Fuzz!
I would take the domes right off to dry the surface of soil. The mold will disappear then. I also stir the soil surface with a toothpick to help it dry faster when I get it (careful not to disturb the seed) but I'm not sure how that will work with soil bricks. I find seeds are ok with most mold unless it gets too thick.
