Hi sallyg - the eyes and face are how you tell these little crab spiders from each other. You might be able to rule a few out:

My best guess is the Whitebanded crab spider, Misumenoides formosipes

Had a cool one once, the exact shade of yellow as the flower it was on. Some can change color to match a bit?
Not that I know of, but they come in a variety of colors within the species.
your photo is so much better- don't know how well we can do with my bad picture. If yours can get ID ed, I suggest adding it to bugfiles. Thats where I was trying to go with mine.
