Weight Loss Challange Feb. 16 - 23

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Good morning all!! It is still nice and crispy outside tho no moisture coming down. Rain is predicted for tomorrow. I don't think there are even patches of snow left on the ground anymore.

Breakfast was a slice of pumpernikel toast with p.butter. I know, not what one would think of as going together well, but it isn't really all that much of a clash. Then I ate a couple fiber bars. Lunch is up in the air proteinwise but I know I'll be eating plenty of that jello salad as well as the bean salad I made thinking there would be 3 extra people here for the weekend.

Not really energetic this morning tho I know I need to go to town today. I've seen evidence that one of the cats is really wormy so I'll do all of them. I'm out of brown rice and that is something I use quite a bit of so I 'll buy more of it. I think I'll get some 'burger to fix a big casserole for the oldest daughter of my employers. She is having lots of hormone and exhaustion problems since the baby was born on the 31st so a casserole will help her. One less thing to do for tomorrow.

The cafe' is for sale and from what was said to me and that I overheard yesterday an offer has been made that they may accept. So, depending on what the new owner decides to do with the place I may be out job hunting in a few weeks. This move is neccessary because of the declining health of the owners and I am in total support of them. Yvonne is to have a mastectomy on the 27th & they already know it is malignant. Can't do radiation because of a lung condition she has, which, as one daughter said, may be related to to the cancer. Right now they are calling it fibrosis of the lungs which means the walls of the air bags in the lungs are stiffening. She has had it for a long time tho she just went to the doctor a month or so ago and got a diagnosis. The entire family has been after her for a year or more to go see a doctor for it but she wouldn't. Now that she is finally going they are finding all kinds of serious problems. She is about 72 I think. The oldest of over 10 children and until recently the healthest of all of them. In fact, I think she has lost about 5 siblings. I know of at least 2 & I think more had died before I ever went to work there. I remember 5 deaths in the 2 sides of the family in just a little over a year a while back. Dale and Yvonne have never seemed the same since all that grief. It just overwhelmed them and now they are dealing with this. My heart aches for all of them. Prayers to JESUS for them will be greatly appreciated.

My mind isn't really functioning very well right now so I'll just get off here wishing everyone blessings and and a wonderful day.
