Hello everyone,
I am new here and love browsing through the threads of this group. I have just captured this butterfly close to the river. It is dry season now just in case it is a dry-form color. Please help me with the ID of this butterfly.
Regards,
Jusni

Jusni, what a beaut! It's a Peacock Pansy, Junonia almana. The eyespots on the wings are supposed to be like Peacok feathers.

That's a nice pic of him too. You should enter him in the Butterfly Files, under Family Nymphalidae, the Brushfoots. I didn't see an entry at all for that species.
jusni, those are great photos of a lovely butterfly.
I have created an entry for Junonia almana in BugFiles here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/5007/
We would be very pleased to have your images added to this page,
Kennedy
