Robyn, what is that vine? It reminds me of the clerodendrum - just beautiful!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

It is a clerodendrum ugandense. Good guess. I just love the little butterfly like flowers. But I din't think it's a vine, it just looks like it the way I shot it.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Robyn, the 'vine' look is what threw me - I recognized the flower's shape, but not the viney look. That particular shrub roots really easily.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

It does? Great cause I wanted to have more of them. Thanks.

We call it the "Blue Butterfly Bush" here in Australia ...a very pretty little plant ...well done as it is fairly tropical ...it grows well here but drops it's leaves in the cooler weather and reshoots in Spring.

I've kept this one inside all winter and this is the second blooming for me. I love the blues in it.

Robyn, I found a website that said your Ugandense is a vine! It always was a sprawler for me, when I grew it.

RJ, I lost mine in a freaky freeze a few years ago, but yours is well-established and gorgeous!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Mine has seed pods if you want some.

My Ugandense is definately a shrub, it's about 14 feet tall. It's actually at the end of the cross vine by the pond.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Thanks, RJ, but I plan to relocate to Panama City Beach, Florida this fall. I will wait to get settled, then come back here and ask for cuttings of beautiful plants!!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Good choice of relocation!

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

It is a beautiful area - zone 8b I was told. The yards in the area have lots of gorgeous plants, and I have promises that I can have cuttings to root. I am really excited, and hope it all comes together as I hope.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Hi Kay!! That sounds like a great area to move too!! I'm sure you will love it.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Well, as I said: it ain't over 'til the paperwork is done, but that's my hope!

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Kay, sure hope your move is a smooth and easy one. Randy - your Crossvine is gorgeous as expected. DH was out taking pics this am, so thought I would post some of my blooms : My pachystachus lutea finally decided to bloom!

Gorgeous flowers Shari!! I was just looking at a Logee's catalog at work today and saw Chad in there.

I have absolutely nothing blooming here. lol. Everything here in my room is struggling to live but it only has a short time to go before I can toss their skinny little stems outside. lol. Then they will be happy again.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Those are some stellar hibiscus...my address to follow....LOL!

very nice

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. I have not a single hibiscus in my yard. Hardy or otherwise. And I have no idea where I would put them either! lol

Hillsborough , NC(Zone 7a)

Very pretty Shari, you even have a white picket fence! I don't know how you do so well with plants in pots, I do so miserably with them!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I know...as I'm accidentally kicking over my 10 hibiscus cuttings watering the plants on the deck

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Accidentally? Riiiiiiight. lol

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

lol...nooo..not on purpose

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

I don't have a choice...nothing will grow in the shallow coral sand here. So I am constantly repotting, since some things get big real fast...others, wither and die...so sad. This Chad I did get from Logee's Pepper! I don't have a lot of luck with their tiny pots, but I got this one in a 4"er and nursed it with every positive thought I had. I just love it! It is now only about 12 " tall, but blooms everyday!

Randy to you really have problems with hibs? They are one of my usually reliables out here. This will make you laugh. The new Science Teacher out here actually told JB that Hibiscus only come in red! JB invited him over to look at all our Hibiscus immitators! Ha Ha!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

That's pretty bad when a science teacher thinks those hibs come in red only. Even I have always known there were other colors. lol

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Yep, that's what we thought! Good thing he's teaching things like chemistry and biology and not botany!!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

You would be a better botany teacher than him for sure! lol

Rio Rico, AZ(Zone 8a)

Well, thanks...but based on his comment, that's not saying much! Ha Ha

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL
