This morning I went in the bathroom, switched on the light and low a behold what was in the sink? My gosh I almost jumped out of my skin and before I realized what I was doing I killed it. It was a huge spider the size (including legs) of a half dollar. I usually just put things like that outside. That's what it gets for scaring me that early in the morning but I still feel bad.
Did you ever think (no I am not crazy) we are like those bugs to something else? When they get tired of us they reach down and snuff us out. Yes, I spend to much time alone. I'm alright now. :)
I killed it
HoniBee, it's okay....I would have washed that sucker down the drain!!!

Many will think I am a horrible housekeeper but I leave the spiders in the house. They make nice spiderwebs to catch the ants.
Everytime I think about dusting them out, I think of all the work the spider put into that web. Then I look at the web and think of all the bugs the spider caught.
Spider stays.

Don't worry 'bout it HoniBee,says in the Bible that even the Kings in their castles have webs' My husband laughs when I try to catch the little fuzzy jumping(black)spiders'I just put a jar over them and outside they go,Lol'
We have a BBIIIIGGG SSPPPIIDDER here on the prairie called a Wolf Spider, they will chase you''The bite is very painful
and then it will start rotting the flesh' That one we do kill''My dog nearly lost his foot and a neighbor did lose his toe' It was in his work boot'
Hey NJCher,if you plant some mint around the house(outside of course, lol)the ants won't come in'' Works great and mint tea is good too''Sis'
Most of the spiders you find in your house or in or around wood piles are
friends neither to you or your gardens.

As the old saying goes:
If you wish to live and thrive, let the spider run alive.
My Grandmother always claimed it was bad luck to kill or throw a spider out the house.
SIS,sounds like that spider, Brown Recluse. But heard it is only half-dollar sz.One of my friends [way back] worked at at this factory.Well,a spider crawled up her pant, bit her and it started doing the same thing .Started out as red spot, then gray putrid color.Well,lo & behold, the site got so big it looked like jaws had bit her!Literally, her inner thigh was caved in.Ooo,what an awful site! Needed alot of skin grafts after that, but she was fine ,thanks to the anti-biotics!
And some more folklore, Baa,I was always told that if u killed a spider in your hand ,it meant money coming in.Killed many here[teeny ones] but still no fortune! LOL!...Jane
We have huge wolf spiders here and some of the garden spiders give them a run for their money! Once found a wolf spider who's legs only just fitted on the palm of my hand.
As for little spiders and money...we call them money spiders (dark browny-red colour) and if they run over your right palm you will come into money (apparently LOL) like you I've not been blessed with monetry riches just yet.
Yep,that's the one,NASTY''Well,they can get
really big Luvublooms' I've seen them big as a mans
hand and fast too' Killed one in my home a few years
ago after it was charging me'Tried spraying hair
spray to slow it down, made it crazy so grabbed my
big old Websters' Dictionary and dropped it down
on it,after I had jumped up on the kitchen table,
LOL'' True story''I figured it might be like a
cartoon and see the book going across the floor'
LOL'''It didn't move and I didn't touch that book
for a week,stepped on it alot too,yuk'
Baa,I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had spiders THAT big! And LOL re fortunes.Someday ,dh claims, he will win the big one!Hope I am still here! LOL!...Jane
O, Sis, U R so funny! But not the spiders! And u don't live anywhere close to here,do u? This is another country, right?! I wouldn't want to share any creepy crawly spiders!Jane
Glad I made ya laugh, ladies but it is a true story
and cringe today just writing about it,yyyuuuugg'
Naw,I'm not where you guys R,but that's ok,too'
I love visiting with you because you're sooo sof-
isticated in your speak,so to speak'LOL My aunt
from Britain was wonderful too, sure miss her'
Those critters hopefully WON'T run over this kid's
hands, money or not'''Lol And it must be my ESP
today aunties name was Janie'''True''
When we first rented this farm 28 years ago, the barn had not been used for a couple of years and we had to clean it out and get it whitewashed so it could be inspected before we milked in it. There hadn't been any feed in it for years and the mice were very tiny, and the spiders, who had lots of flies even without the cattle, were very large. We don't really have any big scary ones around here, but some of the ones that we came across then were about the same size as the poor little mice! Got to be honest, much as I tell the spiders they are doing a good job, I really can't stand to be in any close proximity!
awwww,Sis,there is always someone that was very close to each one of us.And that we miss terribly. It is good to talk and laugh. But yet an emptiness is deep within us of that someone special we have lost.Mine was my best friend,MOM...Janie
