It's real:) I'm not sure whether or not that photo has been color enhanced but they just closed a co-op at Yahoo that had these offered. I could kick myself for not getting a few:)

Oh they just opened a co-op from The Lily Garden. Think I'm not in trouble:lol: It took me all of 3 minutes to spend $90:lol:

I just looked at this lily on 8 different websites (googled it) and they all used the exact same photo. I'll wait to get some real photos from members that try it.

Purple Prince is a dark , deep pink . It is lovely and has a nice fragrance. It looks like it wil be available in garden centers this year. I saw it at Wisconsin Garden Expo last weekend, the bulbs that is.

I bought one already, the idiots already shipped it to me so I planted it. Will let you know and post pictures when it blooms. I have it in a pot in my bathroom growing now. I do this every year and can always count on this one vender to send lily bulbs to Maine in Feb. So, every year somewhere around Easter I have my own lily blooming in my bathroom. Last year it was Brasilia and my hubby's BF keep going in my bathroom and coming out saying "Gee your bathroom smells good!" LOL
This year it is 'Purple Prince' , 'Strawberries & Cream' and 'Penthouse' all in one big pot.

Yeah , I'd say the pictures differ quite a bit on vendor's photo vs. actual. It is a nice one, but purple? Nah.

Not sure if you like the smelly bathroom or not, Pixie, but you could always refrigerate them until spring as your other option. Chen Yi stuff comes in December, so that's what we do.

thanks for the tip I need it as I have over 100 lily bulbs coming from the 3 different co-ops. I'm weak, what can I say?
Last year one or 2 blooms at once were OK in the bathroom, hopefully 3 won't be to bad!

What a great idea! I could order some now to plant in April. I just didn't get enough last fall. I never have enough lilies, mostly because I never have the room for more. But I've thought of new places to plant them since I ordered them in September. Thanks for the suggestion, St. Boniface!

There are some rules about keeping lily bulbs in the frig. Apples, that you may have heard give off ethylene gas, is not a good thing. Other fruits and vegetables emit the gas, but generally, not as much. No unintentional science experments, either. They often produce tons(well not really tons) of ethylene. The important things: keep apples out of the frig, and your bulbs should be in air tight bag. Freezer ziplocks are good, but not the regular ones. The regular bags may seem air tight, but they are not completely gas impervious.

Next, the correct moisture is paramount! You don't want the bulbs to dry too much, and you certainly don't want them to rot. Like when scaling, you can use barely moist peat, or another non-soil medium. Remember that what is barely moist at room temperature becomes seemingly more moist at cooler temperatures in the frig. Free, available water is what encourages rot. The best "barely moist" in the frig will produce no condensation inside the bag.

Some people's refrigerators are set so they will just barely freeze in some parts. Mine can lightly freeze in the very back part. That is just fine for lily bulbs, but you can not put them in the freezer compartment.

And do check them every 2-3 weeks for rot. If one starts to go, you must remove any others in the same bag, and put them in a fresh medium. Do NOT put the supposed unaffected bulbs in a bag with other bulbs. You will be contaminating the second bag.
