Found a Great Web Site

Bella Vista, AR(Zone 6b)

I thought it would be fun to start over, so I am adding them only if I see them again... and on the actual date I see them.

Marlton, NJ

Have you noticed how the list of people has grown, lol?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

WTG you all.

I can't believe the lack of participation from the Alabama Bird group Yahoo forum where I found the post for this new site.

I think it said you could do 2 list if you had more property. I may do another one and call it my life list for my old address

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

wrote to Chris about a life list, that I posted the link to his site on Daves Garden with overwhelming response and here is his response

Hi Donna,

Thanks for linking to my site. I am very happy people are finding it useful! Adding a life-list feature has been requested by several others as well so I am going to add that when I have time - hopefully this weekend or next (unfortunately, YardBirder.net is not my day job or I would do it right away).

I will also look into expanding beyond the US. The issue right now with that is that sorting birds in taxonomic order requires me to have a list of all the possible birds. Right now, I only have a list for North America so international lists would not sort correctly. I will note this on the FAQ page though and look at obtaining a full world-list.

Thanks again,

Chris Eagan

Just how cool is that! I am so glad we are such an enthusiastic group here!!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I was still having trouble with my yard description so I emailed Chris and it was a glitch and he has fixed it. I think it had something to do with Internet Explored. He didn't know it was a problem and was very happy that I let him know. If anyone has been having a problem you might try it now and see if it works as well for you as it does for me now.

Does anyone understand how you make a second yard list under the same username? I contacted him and he said I could do that but didn't explain how, lol.

Andrews, NC(Zone 6a)

My user name is also the same as here.

Batavia, OH(Zone 6a)

I think I'm coofuse...need to work on the name!

Pelle, I looked & looked for a way to make a second list & I can't find it.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

same here. I know I saw it says you can but can't figure it out. Think he forgot to put a link to be able to do it. He did say he was going to try to make a link for a Life List this or next weekend

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Marilynbeth is that the name of your list??? I am still not finding you there

Beachwood, NJ(Zone 6b)

On Yardbirder.net I am MaggiesWoods. The list is getting bigger every day! GM

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Okay, I updated the list of names above. Also,

Quoting:
I think I'm coofuse...need to work on the name!

Coo, does this mean you don't have a yard name yet??

I think in a little bit, I'll start a new thread with this list at the beginning? Donna and Pelle, what do you think?

Batavia, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes, we changed the name. It's now CedarHill.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Does anyone keep lists with eBird?

Do they let you list each species of bird?

LOL, no obviously I haven't used it.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Well Pelle, I'm trying to digest all the info. It certainly is not as user friendly.

"Using the interactive checklist :
The checklist displays all of the birds on the version you selected (Most Probable or Full), sorted in the order you selected (Taxonomic or Alphabetic). You can use either the scroll bar to move up and down the page to find the birds you are submitting, or jump to specific groups of birds using the linked group names near the top of the page. For example, on a taxonomically sorted list, clicking on “Woodpeckers” will take you right to the Woodpecker group on the checklist."

But I'm not able to pull up personal locations like yardbirder.net.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Yep, looks just like the Backyard Birdcount stuff. Probably all the same, since that's where I found this link.
