My Stick Trees Think It's Summer!!

Thats why I didn't want any trees, If all these do grow from the Arbor Day, which I wounder if, they will be going to the swap, going to try to go, don't know yet for sure.

Heidi, I didn't bring home a golden chain, but I got two golden rain trees, one of which has a new home. If you have the golden chain tree, I'll get it on the 26th for this new gardener. She's really young and has a large yard, and absolutely no knowlege of any kind. But wants to learn! The best kind! She's in love with golden chain trees.

I like them I have them going up part of my yard mixed with floering plums.. Two things I didn't know about the golden one is that they are very fragrant and second the snails crawl up them. I go and knock snails out to their untimly demise every fewdays. Weird snails up a tree.

Isn't that interesting? When you say the 'golden one', Heidi, which one do you mean - Koelreuteria or Laburnum?

The Laburnum looks pretty showy

And look at this, Heidi!!! I did a Google search on laburnum and snails - lots of people are having problems with their laburnums and snails. Weird. Click this link:

Hi Katie I mean the golden chain or Laburnum. Isn't that funny about the snails they are thick in the nursery around them and in the garden. I have both I can send pixy home with either if youd like

Oh, Heidi - you are so generous. I'll keep thinking about the laburnum (I have the other). I'm still looking into the toxicity thing. I have dogs that have to taste everything - limits my gardening options. LOL

well I have a turtle and he eats everything actually they all do and so far this hasn't seem to tempt them. I think they would rather eat compost.

:-) I'm looking forward to meeting Turtle. And all of them, for that matter. And Sahara says there's nothing like compost - mmmmmm - unless it's a small dead furry thing, or a dead worm (although those are better to roll in). Why do I buy treats for them again? I should just go out into the back yard and collect. LOL

I was just thinking of the worm or a tiny bit of bird poop. How funny

Sahara digs tiny little ankle-breaking holes in the yard to check for edibles. Between those and the frozen mole hills, it can be hard on your ankles and feet to walk around out there . . .
