Jan, I am the February "Princess" in a game some of us are playing. :o) We play games to win/lose points and it is a blast! The "Princess" gets little gifts from the "Ladies In Waiting" for a whole month, and it has been the coolest thing!

When it comes time to be "Princess", you post a list of your 'likes' for people to know what would be a nice gift. It can be seeds on your want list, or just a nice card, or chocolate, etc... I have received seeds I was wanting, a little stuffed animal, wonderful chocolate, wind chimes, a cute little thermometer, candles, Cajun spice mix, you name it, I got it!!! :) I am sure I must have forgotten something wonderful, but didn't mean to anyone!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH yes, you lose your points you get knocked down. I was just lucky that they chose spelling for the first game, which allowed me to keep my status! LOL

and are you saying that the rule for losing your royalship can change from month to month? like next month yall might decide that you can't use the word "red" in any of your communication or something similar?

jan i'm laughing because i rarely go to different places on daves. usually i am found on plant or seed trading and co-ops. but on a rainy or cold day i sometimes look at the newest threads at the bottom of my home page and that is how i discovered their game. i want misty to hurry up and answer me so i can mess with her a little bit. cause it's another cold and rainy day in texas today. lol.

You lose a point when someone catches you doing the thing you are NOT suppose to be doing, and the one catching you gets the point they stole from you. You start out with a certain amount of points, then lose/gain throughout the month.

Well, I made up the games for this month since I am "Princess", but I am doing it on a weekly basis, instead of the whole month. This week everyone has to use the :o) smiley face, and she caught me NOT using it, so she got a point. I don't have any points to lose, but they can take them from me when I 'goof'! :o)

Well, the way I did it was to put MANY threads on my 'watch' list to catch them making mistakes, which got me lots of points and able to hold my place as February Princess. :o)
Ok, so you know who's doing it and what forums they spend time in and follow them around. Cool. Do you do this each month? Sometime if you have room, I'd like to do it with you. Need some excitement in my life.
Gosh, what a life if that's exciting. I'm going to bed and pull the covers over my head. Well, my cats and I are going to bed and cover our heads up
and lorraine what we mean also by "lurking" is that sometimes you might see a thread title that intrigues you and you click on and read. but you don't say anything. you might watch the thread or you might never go back. but in a way while you were on the thread you were sort of spying on another group without their knowledge.
one more thing misty...if you get enough points is there a way to block losing your princesshood for the next month? or do you only get to be the HPIC for a month?

My lurking is what enabled me to hold on to my throne. :) I somehow got chosen to be first, but had to make sure I had enough points to hang on to it. One month is all you get, but you still play the game and steal points from the other players. When in the Princess slot there are no points to gain, just to take away from others. So, what kind of ammunition is it you are taking away from this?! LOL
well you just don't "never" know how or when knowing about a thing can come in handy.
